Journalist seeking anecdotes

Hello, I am looking for people who bought a Fit that kept their SUV or pickup instead of selling it or trading it in. Essentially, people who wanted better mileage, but didn't want to give up their truck or SUV or didn't think it was worth selling it because the resale values have fallen significantly.

Like me.
I'm keeping the big old beast. I own it and selling it for a pitance makes little sense.
And I don't figure the market for a V10 4x4 3/4 ton is the best right now!

We just bought a used Fit, but we kept our Yukon XL. Our decision was not based on the decreased value of large SUVs, but rather the need (or actually desire I suppose) to tow our travel trailer.

I sold a '96 Subaru station wagon after I got my '08 Fit this past April. I kept our '97 Ford F-150, which is used to pull a horse trailer, to haul hay, firewood, building supplies, etc., and to go off-road in places that would cause the utter destruction of my nice economical Fit.

I kept my 2006 Nissan Frontier for hauling the travel trailer and heading out into the woods or desert for off roading. Around town and road trips, the Fit saves me dollars.

I had no intention of getting rid of my '83 Silverado pickup, although I had long since stopped driving it on a regular basis. I'd done every hot rod trick I knew to it, true dual exhaust w/ dual cat/cons, K&N filter, HEI ignition, etc. The best mileage I achieved was 20mpg on a trip. Interestingly enough, when I took it in for its last emissions test, the technician stated somewhat increduously that it was burning cleaner than his '95 pickup! I bought my Fit because I was in the market for a new car, and after lots of research, I found that it "Fit"!

There was a guy on here the other day looking to trade in his Silverado for a Fit, bu decided to try to sell privately. The thread was new enough to where you should be able to find it relatively quickly.....can't remember his name though.

I'll let you know if i find it.
