And yet that never happens

The stock Dunlops are considered LRR tires in some listings.

Again... Dunlop would not list 51 PSI as max if it would reuslt in uneven wear. The numbers are as plain as day. 51 PSI is max. Not an arbitrary number made up by someone else.

Why don't you do it and report back, since you are so certain.

Some manufacturers tell you to use premium because their ignition system can't handle low test gas and results in detonation.
Premium only does one thing; it delays the onset of detonation. Manufacturers specify premium for cars with high compression ratios. Some cars prefer premium but can run on lower octane, but it is never true that a car that does not need higher octane will gain power from it.

That having been said, some gas companies do put more detergents and other additives in their premium fuel, and I have no doubt that some of them also make their regular grade as inexpensively as possible so they can compete on price. Buying gas at name-brand stations should help avoid this. Also stay away from those stations mixing ethanol in with their gas. Ethanol dramatically reduces the energy content.
