MPG?? 0.o???
I just did my fit fill up. 6 exact gallons at 130 miles = 21.6 mpg???
Ouch. I know I have a led foot and all but 22?
Mostly congested freeway average speed 55. Little city driving without traffic (lights).
no stop and go traffic type situations

How long have you had your Fit?
I was also disappointed with the gas mileage I was getting on the first couple of tanks. However, after the engine was broken in it improved a bit. After that I installed a K&N Drop-in filter and saw a greater improvement. The last set was following this DIY: https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-...t=conditioning (See pg. 6)
These are the only suggestion I can offer you. With the above mentioned, I am gaining about 75km (almost 50 mile) per tank.
Oh yeah, some have talked about gas grade affecting mileage. The Fit was built for 87 octane (I'm poor so that's all I can afford, don't really know if it make a difference).

Give it a few tanks of gas and the MPG will go up. Im at 20k on mine and im between 36-40MPG with mixed highway/city driving with a somewhat heavy foot.

I was getting roughly 22-26 when I first got the car all city driving ( I also was having alot of fun probably too much ) with the new intake I have been getting what looks like 30+ mpg in the city when I am playing nice haven't done an official test yet.
However this past weekend I went on the highway for the first time with the fit and I was suprised to get 38-40mpg would have been more I think if it weren't for the traffic jams. Will get an official mpg on the highway with the new intake Friday.

As for MPG... I put my first fuel in yesterday, at 241 miles. It took 6.9 gallons. I have yet to take it on a highway for more than a couple miles - primarily city driving / light-to-light. Avg = 34.9.
Regarding driving style - in adherence to the break-in guidance Honda provides, I've just been driving in a "normal" fashion - I don't think I've put it above 4k RPM.

how do you know the dealership FILLED the tank? you didn't, and will NEVER fill the tank to teh SAME exact level of fuel. dividing the number of miles by the number of gallons is stupid. it's a ball park estimate, but shouldn't be taken seriously. if you want VERY accurate results, get a scangauge.

My MPG swings a bit. When I just drive around town I get mid 20's, when I go on any trips out of town it's usually low 30's. Lots of stop and go here in NYC, and lots of merging into highway and getting off a few minutes later.

For what its worth, my car from day one (mile 1) has got the same mpg, about 30ish. So I never really got any kind of break-in mpg bump. Still stoked that during my drives to Colorado from California a couple times a year I get about 37+mpg. Yay!

Going to work a few weeks back, a guy passed me on the interstate in a Prius. When I caught up to him he was running between 85 and 90 - I am sure his "hybrid" mileage is great!

I have 4000 miles that I put on since purchasing 6 weeks ago. I drive half interstate and half stop and go for a 135 miles each day. I have yet to get under 33MPG. My high is 35MPG. All done in an AT driving 75 - 80 on the interstate protion.
