Urgh! what should I do?
My BBP baby is suffering from the swirl/scratch blues. When it was at the dealer last they did a crappy job washing it and swirled it up pretty bad.
Does anyone know any good product that can help buff them out?

porter cable buffer
with the right stuff a porter cable should take out 99% of swirls
you can find them decently priced at autogeek.net
p.s. cavie doesn't have a good habit at helping out anyone

Fits paint is sooo bad man, every Fit seems to have some swirl action lol.
I just got use to mine. They kinda come out when i wax my car, but swirls are kinda permanet since they are just really fine scratchesd in the paint.
I wish you luck in your quest of swirl removal!

If you don't want to go the buffer/polish route, call a professional detailer in your area. You might be able to find a canadian detailer through Autopia - Autopia Home - Autopia Home in the professional detailing section or in the section where people post by geographic area. It took me a good 6 months of reading and trying to get caught up with the latest technologies and techniques so no shame in calling a professional.
That should be a little more help than telling what you didn't do. RG

gaw.
ive never seen worse responses to an easy question.
go here, buy this, special product.
wanna know how i took all of mine out from a crap detailing the dealership did before sale?
carnauba wax/ cleaner wax. people say you dont NEED it for a new car, but I took out 100% of my swirls with just a wax. wash and wax to the point of scrutinizing every detail took 4 hours out of my saturday. just make sure you dont need a buffing or anything, then wax and finish with a polish.
simple.

Everyone simmer or I'm sending out warnings. OP does not need someone to tell them something they should have done in the past because they don't have the power of foresight and you gotta learn from your mistakes. I know I did.
A PC7424 will work well to get rid of most of your swirls. Definitely hit up autogeek.net, that's where I got mine and some other stuff from eshine.ca. I chose Pinnacle products, but am contemplating getting their intermediate XMT scratch remover. Definitely check out their video section, they teach you how to use it! I used it for the first time a few weeks back, it is a great unit and will prevent any damage as if you put too much pressure, it'll stop rotating so you know that you need to lighten up. The videos are excellent in showing you what you need to do

if you can find a company that does touch up paint and other removals that would be a good start. Our honda outsources to some guys called Dr. Vinyl and they get all the scratches and paint chips out of any car I take to them.

Sorry to hear about your swirls - mine is the same so you are not alone there. I belong to another car forum Meguiars On Line and they have a very detailed write up on removing swirl marks. I am planning to attempt this one weekend when the temps get more stable. I showed my Fit last year at a car show and just don't feel that I can show it again this year without getting rid of those swirls. There are some imports shows that I definitely want to participate in this summer.
Here is my baby looking Fit beside all that american muscle!
Hope this helps.

I'm sorry this thread has caused so much turmoil. It was just a simple question about paint care.
autogeek.net was very helpful.
Ultimately I went to a friends Hot Rod shop and talked to his detailer/finish guy and picked up some #9 Maguiars Swilrl Removal. I have not had a chance to see what it will do but the guy I talked to said it would work good on the BBP.
When there is a long enough break in the rain I will post the result before and after for this product. If it does not work, I will purchase a kit off autogeek.net and give my car the power polish/buff (not to worry, I spent some time as a detailer and have experience with a power buffer. My shop never told us the product that we were using and the one that I did know are "for commercial use only"). If it comes to this I will post a DIY about power buffing.

posted over in the car care forum, but if anyone's ready to try a
random orbital the Griot's system is bascially fail safe even for a
beginner. comes with instructions too. i bought my mastercare
set like 2+yrs ago and ive yet to screw up even my black car.
yes, if you've never purchased real detailing gear it might feel
expensive at first, but the benefits and speed you gain from
using the right products and maintaining your work with
preventative maintenance it is well worth the investment, i think.
