Garage Make-Over

Today was a wet and rainy day so I decided to work on my garage and get it functional before the detailing season get in full mode. Some people will say this is too much but I love my car and keeping it clean.

Every garage should have a shelf like this. I know mine does.

It's good to know someone else is using the products I'm using. I just wish there was space in the garage for me to do that. It's too full of my parent's CRAP. garage = not a good storage place (at least not when it's still being used as a garage, both cars inside it)

All your organization makes my head hurt. I need chaos in my life. If I'm not stressed out over smelling fiberglass resin, but not finding the source of the smell, I'm not living on the edge.

looks good! i use target boxes and shelves for my detailing stuff.
the larger container is from the ContainerStore. imho these boxes
are great to keep dust out.

way in the back on the shelves.

I agree. My dad is a gear head like me. Nothing in my garage is safe. Anytime I leave a set of rims in there, they have a nick or scratch after.
Now I leave them upside down and covered.

Our garage is normally pretty organized though. I should take a pic of my grandpas garage. Besides his mint 67 Camaro SS his tool chest will catch your eye also. Its like 6' tall and half the length of his garage. Everythings labeled too.

Sick garage Kenchan. Whats got the fogs? Mini?

nice. i can't wait to move into my new apartment this weekend. the garage i have now is kind of a shared one. it's basically a carport with a garage door. my new garage will be private. no one will steal my stuff. i just noticed someone stole my tire pressure gauge. i already had to replace my stolen car wash supplies, now i have to replace my tire guage.
and now i can hang up my SCCA World Challenge posters.

Wish I had a garage setup like that but instead the guy before me installed a punching bag bracket and didn't add any insulation to the walls. I'm all for the detail season though!!

thanks dave- it's really nothing though compared to some of the
"nice" garages ive been to. this is my starter house so haven't really
spent that much money into it. little by little, tools first, decoration
next.

one thing i noticed is depending on how much work you do inside
your garage it's best not to over do it for cosmetics...cause you end
up cleaning it more and becomes a hassle rather than concentrating
on working on your car.

let's say you detailed your car... QD drips onto the floor. most folks
would be like who cares.... some of those anal retentive folks with
super clean garages frown. omfg wipe that QD before it stains!

garage needs to be functional.
