Teh Fit is my first MT car and it's very easy to learn car. For some reason, I almost purchased the AT instead of MT. I would been majorly pissed when I think about it now.

I saw you back it into a curb at Tim Hortons when you were learning.

I regret that the car doesn't come in pink. I would've bought it just to be different. Had to settle for white and black lol

You took my initial thoughts right out of my head!

I wish I had bought the base, every time I curb the front lip.
Not really, but I have scared myself a few times. Never had a car that would hang on curbs before. Old dog, new tricks, ya see.

i think of it as loving the curbs, not hitting the curbs. it's just saying "hi" LOL. MOST if not ALL scrapes aren't visible when looking at the car

All colors are hard to match for the Fit. Its due to our weird paint.
My grille, rear garnish, and wing dont match. In the sun they do, in fluorescent lighting it doesnt. It looks pale.

Wing and spoiler were painting professionally, rear garnish was done by me.
Its the only reason why I havent bought new fenders. I know the paint wont match.

Im scared to have my Jazz moldings painted.

i think for anyone that's not real happy with the factory bodykit (sport)
should get the base and go aftermarket.

coincidentally i liked the factory sport kit so i just got the sport...
also the mp3 player jack was cool, but that can be added later.
cruise... i dont use cruise...

wheels... already sold them.

foglamps...ok, thats kinda cool, but can be added later too.

so bascially i just bought the base with body kit and factory alarm.

You could always buy a supercharger and then laugh at all of us who spent our money on plastic body cladding while you blow by!

Then again you shoulda gotten an MT in that case!

No regrets with this car so far. I love it, I love looking at it, and I love driving it. Plus it adds a nice dash of color to our driveway, its the brightest car that ever parks on it.

Also a note on cruise control. With a low torque MT vehicle don't ever use it. you'll find you burn alot more fuel with cruise on
can you elaborate on the cruise control fuel economy for MT fit? does this include long distance travel or trying to use cruise on the freeways near town where you're high speed for less than 20 min or so?

I love the Fit, but now it seems to make it look even better I'm gonna end up spending more money in the long run than I had if I could have gotten a bigger loan for the Sport.
I got my car 3 days after it arrived. I paid 1500+ MSRP and considered it worth it, because the stick shifts due to their low supply were disappearing. And I hated my civic EX automatic.

and traffic in an MT does suck, dont care what the common opinion says. buuut better fuel economy +1, and the ever-so-cool shifting of gears +40.
It doesn't with the Fit. I also read in an edmunds long term blog they agree too. I think most people would say the MT in the fit is so forgiving and easy, that even in heavy traffic it's a breeze. I'm serious. This is the first stick car i've owned. I've driven stick before on other peoples cars, and it's annoying.

I guess I'm just gonna accept and love my stock Fit, and just keep reading/learning as much as I can about modding. Give me a reason to keep my Geo Prizm around. Use it to learn how to take off body panels, do extensive engine work etc. I mean, it's pretty messed up so maybe I can get it back to running on my own and learn some stuff too.

MT isn’t for most people. I actually traded away my old Sti because I was spending 2 hours a day in rush hour traffic shifting that thing. I also have to haul around my young kids now-a-days and its hard to reach back and pull them apart when they are duking it out when you have to shift. It was starting to seriously kill my knee. The only reason I will ever buy another MT will be for a garage weekend sports car.

I go out of town sometimes, so cruise control is a must for me. Plus, cruise helps if I'm not in the mood to drive fast and I just wanna cruise up the Dallas Tollway.

Plus, the Sport looks better than the Base IMO.

As for the main point to this topic, I wouldn't have minded trying to drive a manual, but an automatic is still more simple. I also deal with traffic quite a bit.

This is a funny story, but a younger female friend of mine who learned to drive in a Fit (that she ran out and bought against recommendations), she got a couple parking lot scrapes from a curb, a pole, a bush... well she was all upset each time until I said, "Yeah your car has a couple love bumps, try not to add any more but don't worry about them!" It was quite some time until she did that again, and she mentioned that she added to her collection without acting upset...

I'm glad to see some folks are leaving their Fit stock.
