Hit and Run - Saturday morning

Hit and Run - Saturday morning
Hey everyone - first post (had my Fit for 1 month)
Heard a loud crash the other morning (12:15 a.m.) - went outside but didn't see anything and from my steps, the Fit looked fine...that was until the next morning when I walked up to the car to take off and saw this...
Pretty significant damage - still waiting for the body shop to get back to me...
Here's the best part - about 4 hours after I called my insurance company to report the hit and run, a young man arrives with his mom at my doorstep. She tells me, "I think my son has something to tell you..." He then tells the story of how he hit me with his 85 BMW 5 series screwing around...
Ugh...

I hope the axle or suspension for the car is going to be okay, cosmetic fixes are easy, but things like these will be harder to take care of.

+1, that front is never going to be the same. but on the brighter
side, the car's suspension is so damn basic there's really nothing to it.
therefore, it might turn out okay.
jlcpgord- sorry to hear about your pain. yah, he was scared
and didnt know wat to do.

Still waiting...
I hope to hear from the shop today - it will be interesting to see what damage lies beneath the tire (frame, axle, etc...) - the shop I took it to is the best in the area so I'm confident that it will be in like new condition (here's to hoping)...

I agree - pretty good the of mom - she tells a funny story...he went home that night after the accident and told some other story that didn't make sense to her...the next day she told him to go with her to the grocery store and he flipped out. She knew something was up then and when he finally broke, she realized that they would have to drive right by my car on the way to the grocery store and he would have been busted either way...:-)

So sorry to hear about your car but at least the driver did the right thing and came to take responsibility for the damage he caused. I was hit a few years ago and the person just hit and ran and never to return. My insurance wanted to total the 1996 Ford Ranger but decided to just give me enough to repair the functional damage and I was left with a 4 foot long scratch and dented drivers side.
Hope it all gets fixed up and as good as new soon!

That really sucks. I have an IR surveillance camera mounted above my drive way that records onto my TB hard drive. I was able to give video of the little bastard that egged my rental to the cops and get him fined for vandalism. Now no one's cars in my neighborhood get messed with.
