To put more weight over the rear or for room under the hood?

I am currently planning to relocate the battery to the rear. You can get a kit at Summit Racing, however I did not try it. I'm still finding a "right" spot yet. I just couldn't figure out what is the lowest point without losing space or losing any of the goodies in the trunk, i.e the spare in the trunk, cargo net etc.

i don't have a fit but isn't there a space on the right side in the trunk that is almost big enough for a battery maybe like a braille battery or small odessey battery might fit? so you don't loose space in the trunk really (or is that the cargo net you were talking about sorry just saw that?)

No DIY but their already is a nice, giant, long thread filled with all the information you would ever need if you had looked for it.

why? the battery on the car is tiny and pretty light.

also why weigh down the rear of the car on a FF?

well, im currently running a custom SRI in my car, and the intake presses against the battery just a little bit. I'd like to move it a bit so i have more room to work with. And why not weigh the rear down a bit on a FF. The frotn end is already heavy.

battery reloacte

Let me know if you go this route. I'm planning to do this too. Looks somewhat simple, but I just don't want to mess anything up. I want to rock the Password JDM intake, but not sure if I necessarily want the Odyssey battery.

I relocated a battery years ago, it is a hassle got to punch a hole in the fire wall and string a cable under the carpet to the back. That car was rear wheel drive so it made sense.

Just use an Odyssey pc680, starts my 09 fine, same battery was in my 07 and before that in my 3.5 liter Nissan maxima. It is like over 3.5 years old, still works fine. Odyssey batteries are made to military spec. I'd shoot a pic but it is late and I got to be with a customer very early.

i guess my question is WHY?

the stock battery is small and light weight... plus your car is front engine front drive. why disperse more weight to the back?

kinda like adding a ricor wing for more down force IN THE BACK. hahaha.

Given the small size of the battery, it seems a bit pointless. Even if you're planning to autocross (where some folks will move a driver's side full-size battery to the passenger side rear), I don't know that the offset in weight or the change in its distribution would be worth it.
