I got my Red base automatic for 16,000 OTD. I suggest trying the internet divisions. I got nothing but the run around when I dealt with the floor sales guys. Shop around, play them off of each other you will get a good deal. Dont believe the hype that these are only sold msrp, I was told that over and over, then got mine way below and am quite happy.

If you're going to do that make sure that you:
1. Go towards the end of the month when everyone is trying to meet their quota.
2. Go about an or 1/2 hour before the dealership closes. The longer you stay, the better your chances. Everyone wants to go home.
Good luck!!

That's exactly what I was gonna say. In fact, if you even utter the word "cash" before closing the deal, good luck finding a salesman to even look in your direction!

Well, I got mine in Feb of '07 for $15900. I've got a SSM 5-speed manual.
But I'm not sure that's the part that JDMChris was referring to. They're less likely to "negotiate" a sticker price with someone paying cash than someone they are financing. I'd negotiate hard and let them finance you and then turn around and pay it iff next month...as long as you don't get hit with a fee for early payoff. If you let them know that in advance, they might be able to get you into that kind of a loan.

offers
If and when I buy an 09, I'll drive the first one I can find to make sure. Then I'll get a few E-mails off to several dealerships with my 'on the road' offer.Got a good dealership in Harrisburg PA. where we bought our Pilot.Probably end up buying it from there anyway but always pays to shop a price on a vehicle as ''hot'' as the Fit will be in 09. I'll have a credit union check in hand for a same as cash deal when we pick up the car, normally the whole process takes about an hour or so.The last thing you want to be is a ''walk in'' they're the ones that help to make the great deals we're after possible.I enjoy the research and homework involved in knowing what a good fair price is.It's never bothered me knowing a dealership makes a few hundred dollars on the price I'm paying for a vehicle, it's their job to charge what ever the market will bear.As a customer, my job is to be informed enough to pay fair market price.

You should be able to get it for that or a little less depending on the dealership. I had a vehicle to trade which they gave me $1000.00 back on and then I had $5,000.00 in cash plus paid my taxes - I purchased my 2007 Honda Fit Sport for $17,001.00. I took out a loan through the hospital credit union and got a great deal on financing since I paid that much down. I would think you will have no problem - just don't show them the money first, like above go in with a attitude of you don't have to have this car - Good Luck!

i just used my personal check to pay for mine in full.
green will only raise red flags, imho, especially with many counterfitting
news going around. you can pay up to a certain amount on your
creditcard... just close the deal with your cc and pay the rest on
check whether personal check or if they only accept certified check,
just go to your bank.
last summer i sold a set of one of my expensive wheels for 1/2 price
to a local....asked the guy to bring cash... he brought all $1800 in
$20 bills. my pants did not look good with all that cash in the pocket. lol

If you walk into the dealership with $17 G's...they will be all over you like a fat kid on chocolate!
But yeah, definetly do some negotiating on the OTD price.
If you are doing a cash deal with no financing/leasing...the dealer should be able to pull some strings to match or possibly give you an even better OTD price.
