The Wait Is Over - US 2009 Fit Pics

Just saw this at TOV - sorry if it's a repost...

The Temple of VTEC - Honda and Acura Enthusiasts Online - Articles - huge overhang: Page 1

Looks really nice. I'm wondering what the screw-looking things are on the bottom of the back seat?

The front has a big overhang to me - but otherwise, I think this car will sell like hotcakes!!!

Not bad I guess, just doesn't sit well with me. It's an attractive looking car but I think it just lacks the flow and even aggression that the current ones have.

Anyone else thinks the head one shots look surprisingly similar to the new euro Civics?

This is exactly why I bought my 2008 GD3 in Febuary knowing full well (that includes the visual) of this model change. In one word? NOT

ok,can we stop merging threads and just close them?we dont need 20 different links to take us to the same pictures.

Here's I feel about the new fit.

It is a HUUUUUUGE improvement over the jdm one BUT the killer factors for me are

1)the BIG ASS front quarter windows

2)the back end is just hopeless

not too bad though, glad mine will be rarer

Hot car, overall.
The longer front I'm not a fan of, the interior I am.

Looks aside, we're forgetting one important factor, the improvement of the ride. Since it's been said that the 1st gen have a more stiff ride.
Can't wait to try this guy out.
Too bad about the longer front, but I guess I have to see it in person really.

i'm not feeling that huge front overhang either. it looks pretty disproportionate to me.

Thumbs down

Agreed.
Interior Good.
Exterior BAAADDD.

its like what subaru did with the wrx. stretched it,
i was really sold on the nimble design of my gd3, and that ..thing is horrific.
i dig the wheels, and the dash, buuut the car itself looks like a neo-minivan
infact, it is a minivan. minus the sliding doors.
I couldnt imagine anyone wanting to performance mod..that..thing even with the "new handling"
and I KNOW, i will see tons of soccer moms trading their oddesey's now for the new fit; smacking up our current-gen doors when pulling out the baby carrier and groceries.

just my two cents.or ten.

[edit]

whats gonna fill that void of space if you choose not to pay the extra out the ass amount for GPS? some huge audio interface? anyone know?

It looks like a completely different car to me.

Yes, that one photo the nose is stupid long, but in others it's completely proportional. Just have to see the car in person I guess. Looks like this year's round of autoshows are actually going to be interesting, what with the new Fit, GT-R, Evo, STI, etc. to see. In any case, if the nose is actually as proportional as it appears in other photos, than the '09 is definitely better looking than the prior run.

Anyone think the revised front end is to comply with European pedestrian protection laws? That would be my guess - many new cars have had that kind of "improvement" to their front ends due to this.

On the whole, I like it; wheels are a huge improvement; interior's much nicer, and the exterior I could live with. And due to the sky roof option in Japan, I'm assuming an aftermarket moonroof of decent shape would be an option. And with the slight bump in hp, what's not to like?

This picture makes it look a bit like the Matrix (or a wagon). The front makes it look long.

It's one of the reasons I like the Fit, it's short so it doesn't look like a wagon while still having the hatch in the back like a SUV. I really like how the 3 looks even if it's a wagon, but that's a different story.

09 Fit

Are they coming out with the moonroof option for the 09s?

Im almost 100% sure that they will not have that option in 09. I do expect it in the future years though.
