I'd stay clear of that dealership if that's the information they are telling you...

I thought the Fit came with a VTEC standard. I remember seeing it before on a Fit engine.

BTW, David Hobbs is my favorite on Speed's F1 coverage. Love the phrases he comes up with.

The Accord story brings back the following to me....

About ten years ago, I looked at a second hand 1991 Accord Aerodeck (I still want one to this day) languishing to the side of a forecourt of a car lot that specialized in secondhand Hondas.

The salesman came swaggering up to me, told me all he knew about the car (less than I did) but knew nothing about the history of the acutal car other than it got a new waterpump and belt when it came in to them (funny as all was dirty on that end of the motor). It was missing a center cap, one rear headrest, had some lower body rot, needed tires (one was flat) and the battery was flat also.

So, milling about a price in my head ($800 US) he fired back $5000 US or some other bit of optimisim on his part...

The best is to always do your homework before going there, take what they say with a grain of salt.

That dealer is full of lies and you seem to know it yourself. Don't give them your money, they don't deserve it!

Ugh. Good help is so hard to find sometimes. The dealer can have great people, but all it takes is one or two people to BS their way through interviews and suddenly the whole place's name is mud...

Hope that doesn't happen often where I am...
