not impressed by the all weather fit floor mats??

new fit owner here and i was looking for some new rubber floor mats b/c i tend to get a lot of dirt in the car. After looking at the all weather floor mats, i'm a little disappointed with it's size, quality and price.

1. the all weather fit mat doesn't seem to cover all the areas of the floor. There are def spots i can step on that has carpet

2. i read on some of the threads that the all weather mats leak. the side bevels are not high enough for low spots so they leak out to the carpeted floor

3. at almost $100 shipped, it seems a bit high for a piece of rubber.

i have gone on to target and found a nice all rubber mat that i intend to cut to my likings. I was wondering if anyone else had this issuse and resolved it somehow.. i know it's minor but it just irks me if a $100 product can't out perform a 17 dollar product.

also what did you guys use for the trunk liner? I want some thing that covers the back of the seats as well since those seats will be down 70% of the time.

you should just put rhino liner all over the interior.

don't know how rhino would work as floor mats. but if they sold a large sheet, i would def consider it as a cargo liner. I ski a lot so muddy boots are often tossed in my old car along with other ski gear.

No issues here with my all weather mats. But then I live in California where usually the closest thing to weather we have is fog. I got my mats because of my usual trips to Colorado and the mountains, so once in a while there is snow in my car. However I do see what you mean about gaps, guess I just never thought about them.

i was originally joking about the rhino liner, as it is a spray-on liner. but honestly, you could cut a very thin sheet of wood or hard plastic to the shape of the rear hatch area and spray it with rhino liner. that would work.

I think the all seasons are ok, I agree they could be better, maybe even a little deeper, but then again I bought a speedy demon, not an off road beast.

If you do alot of skiing I'm surprised you didn't go with an Element, they don't have carpet, plus more room.

For the back, I know alot of people buy rugs or carpet remnants and cut them to fit. Thats what I'm going to do when I get to it. Someday.

i almost did. i went in with element and the fit on the table. what got me at the end was that the element was going to change to a 4door next year (which i really would want). in addition, the fit offered better gas mileage and prob will hold value better.

i'm not regretting my fit by any means. with everything factored in, a fit is better suited for me aside from the sporting side of things. My old civic paid it's dues and the dealer almost didn't want to trade it in b/c of that thick layer of salt mark on the bottom.

i can't personally say anything about the actual honda mats, because i don't have them.

i do however have the $17 mats from target (i forgot which brand i even got, i think rubbermaid or something) and besides the fact that they occassionally slip around, i like them a lot.

I like the all weather fit mats but they do suck for keeping water from spilling over onto the carpet. The tread/walls are far too shallow.

Love my all-weather mats. Never had a problem with them being too shallow. There are some spaces around the edges that arn't covered... but i do have a vacuum and 15 minutes

I changed up the Honda mats a bit. I didn't like black mats that showed every foot print.

I got heavy rubber back outdoor carpet - cut it to the size of the mat and attached with a couple of staples in a few spots on the side lip. (it was dark grey with ribbing)

In the cargo area, I did 2 things.....
I too have the seats down a lot and wanted to protect the cargo floor and back of the seats from dirt (and dog hair when puppy was along)

First I got some heavy vinyl and made a template for the whole area with the seats down. This was cut for the split seat. I sewed or glued the sticky side of velcro all around - the velcro grabs the material on seat backs and floor well - it works beautifully and covers every bit.

At the back where the hatch opens to load - I sewed a wide long piece of the heavy vinyl (cloth on the other side) This tucks under the black vinyl covered mentioned above and pulls out when needed to fully protect the entry to the back - bumper and all.
When puppy jumps in - he can't claw the paint.

THEN - I cut two pieces of the carpet that I used on the floor mats -one to fit just the back when the seats are up. The other for when the seats are down. They overlap about an inch.

Whew! Long exlanation. The whole thing cost less than 20 bucks and was well worth the time. It looks custom or I wouldn't have done it. Had to be a perfect fit. Seats go up and down with no issues.

Worked for me

I could take some pics but I have no idea how to post them. Guess I should do some reading and figure that out. Give me a day or two and I will post some. (I hope)

I wanna know how you can track so much water into the car that the mat can't hold it.
Do you were sponges for shoes?
They fit fine IMO

you'd be surprised how much water you drag on after a good couple of days on the ski slopes
