No significant issues from up here with the all weather mats and they've seen plenty of snow this year . . . LOL

They fit fine IMO
It's not that the mat can't hold the water, it's that the majority of the water stays within the horizontal area that splits the mat in half, just under the Fit logo. And when turning the water ends up travelling to the edge along the horizontal and spills over. Or the water ends up travelling straight down the mat through the vertical ridges and spills out at the bottom. Also doesn't help that the incline/slope of the ridges are so minimal, barely offers any resistance to the water that's going towards the edges. That's my personal experience with these mats.

btw.. as for the water issue. read this recall of 2007-2008 fits

Up to 34,000 Honda Fits from 2007 and 2008 are being recalled for a faulty sensor that detects child seats or out-of-position passengers. In states that use road salt, the salt-infused water from melting snow on the driver's shoes can leak beneath the carpet and corrode the wires for the Occupant Detection System (ODS). Severing that connection means that the passenger's front and side airbags will go off even if a child is in the front seat. The recall is in effect now for cars sold or registered in these states: Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin and the District of Columbia.

smoking is also not the direct cause of cancer. i'm just saying for 5x the price, i expect a product to work a lot better than a $20 solution aside from having a fancy fit logo.

The heck with the Honda all weather floor mats. Weathertech makes floor liners that fit the contours of the floor perfectly and have high edges. They make them for most Hondas including the civic...but not for our Fits. The following link provides a link that allows us to put in a request for floor liners: (I sent it in 3 times thus far. haha.) These floor liners act in the same way the cargo liner works...perfect fit with high edges.

Here they are installed in a new civic:

If the Fit didnt have the odd shaped front floor...then id just get regular mats that have somewhat high edges....but my mats from my old car kinda look dumb...they go up underneath the seat...if you no what i mean.

Here are the pics of altered honda mats and my cargo area protection

Here are the pics you asked for...............

Below should be pics of how I modified Honda all season mats by stapling on the side - a rubber backed carpet.

Other pics show the protection I made for the cargo area. I made 2 - first the vinyl that attaches and secondly the mat on top (2 pieces) that absorbs water from the puppy's feet and just keeps it looking tidy - no water marks or sand on the black vinyl.

First the floor mats

You can see the industrial type staple top right. Used an electric staples - held mat out - staples and then used pliers to bend the ends inwards.

You can see where each seat backing is stitched separately

This shows the top of the carpet on the Left and the rubber backing on the right of this photo

the carpet is cut in two pieces (1 inch overlap at the fold point) This allows one half that covers the back seats when down, to move on top of the other and raise the seats.

There is a flap of the cloth backed vinyl that tucks under the mat when not needed (to keep it clean) simply unfold and it covers my entire bumper for loading mark free.

It is simply velcroed across the very back

This project project was done the first week I had my Fit. It is great for trips to the garden centre - keeps ALL of the inside looking neat and tidy.
I generally keep the backseats down for visibility and carrying all my shopping (yup, I buy big stuff!)

I love that it always looks so much cleaner than it would without this. The velcroed on vinyl can be removed at anytime - but it just wipes clean.

Not yet. Im hoping to get some fellow Fit Freaks to fill out that product request form (takes about a min) to help drive the demand for them. They have them for the new civics. My dad has a complete set of their Floor Liners in his '06 4Runner and they are great! 2 years and hes never had to vacuum his carpets.

Haha. Excellent! Hopefully others too will fill it out. I mean Weather Tech will probably get tired of hearing my name for that request!

Weathertech Floor Mats

Regarding Weathertech mats for the Fit: It seems like you can order them from ROADWORKSAUTO.COM --WE ARE YOUR #1 SOURCE FOR ALL VEHICLE MATS.
I went through the menu and came up with 4 mats for the Fit at $102.95 plus $9 shipping.
Take a look and see if it works for you.

UPDATE: I called up Roadworks and no, Weathertech does not make custom mats for the Fit. Fred at Roadworks pointed me toward two other options. Tuff Design hexmats for $89.99 (free shipping) and Rubber Tite mats for $64.99 (also free shipping). I looked at the pix for these on the Roadworks website, and they appear to offer more floor coverage than the Honda factory rubber mats. Has anybody out there tried either the Tuff Design or the Rubber Tites? I'd like to get feedback. I am due to take delivery on a Fit in April, and I am trying to decide what type of mats to get for the car. Would appreciate anybody's thoughts on this.

i love them! never had any prob with water spilling over on them (especially with the enormous rain storms we have been having in NJ as of lately) and they dont budge or anything. I think they cover a lot a room. i had walmart rubber mats in my first car and i didnt like them because they were too big and constantly moved. these fit perfectly and stay in place, even when im moving my foot on/off the clutch. thumbs up for me!
