Fit two 26" bikes in the Fit today!
It took a little effort but I managed to fit two 26" bikes in the Fit today with only the 60 split seats folded down! That means I can actually transport 2 full size bikes and three people inside the Fit! Guess I don't need the tow hitch anymore. haha
Here's what I noticed:
- The 26" bikes don't fit in tall mode like the pictures on Honda's website, but 24" bikes will probably work. The 2009 Fit being a little wider may fit the 26" bikes in tall mode. It's just an inch or two shy. (Errr, makes me mad that it ALMOST fits!)
- The hatch opening is not tall enough, had to adjust the handle bar to fit the bike through the hatch. I stained the roof padding a little because of this, damn oil won't come off! Oh well, it's gonna happen sooner or later anyway.
- Had to remove my zeta arm rest to fit one of the bikes so the wheel can go between the 2 seats. Didn't screw mine in, so I just pulled it out, nice and easy. Those with JDM arm rests installed may have problems.
I didn't build a rack or anything like some other members have done, just took the front wheel and the seat off and put it in wheel first and up side down. Works great, the handle bars stands it upright and all I needed to do is lightly tie it down. Should have taken a picture, but I remembered only after I took the bikes out. Errr

Sorry to burst your bubble buddy, but I'm no girl. Ignore the avatar, it's from something I posted previously.
