Any tested wheels for more mpg?

Lightweight wheels benefit cars in lots of ways. Acceleration, handling, and braking are all improved with lightweight wheels.... has anyone bought any light weight wheels and tested the difference in mpg? With less rotating mass (assuming you go with a lighter then stock combo) there WILL be increase, I'm just wondering how much.

*non fit related*

on my fox mustang, i bought it with 18" cobra replicas. replaced them with stock 15" wheels. DEFINATELY better preformance, braking, and the MPG went up.

This may sound odd... but here goes...
try and look up (idunno...google probably) hypermile ppl or cars like Prius and stuff and ppl might mention how much they have gained MPG wise (thats where I initially heard numbers from)
hope that helps
I would imagine it would be in the 1-2 mpg range and maybe shaving just less than a second in the 0-60 if light enough (like 8lbs)

We have done this in the past preparing for economy run competitions.and found that the best things are lower speeds, narrower tires and higher tire pressures in order to get the best gas mileage. The downside of course is poor cornering and rougher riding.
Now you can add specialized tires like those for the Prius and other hybrids. Warning: if you autocross a Prius be prepared for slow cornering; those low rolling resistance tires aren't intended for competing in anything but mpg.

16" Konig Helium (12.0 lbs) with Cooper 205/45R16

I wouldn't say that there is a drastic difference but I have noticed about 1.5 mpg increase. Moral -> Get the wheels that you are most happy with and enjoy them

Car needs a wash but here is a pic.

Seems like a thread to justify us buying some nice pricey rims.. overall agree that it shouldn't matter too much.. how far will we go.. first start taking out chairs.. lighter wheels.. and then you'll see anorexic's driving fits saying 45 mpg.. who's gonna be the first?

But its no different than the regular 10 spoke CE28N right? (other than maybe finish, little tiny logo, and lug pattern)
It does look good though...hmmm did you happen to notice what that particular finish/color was called...to many times they screw with the photo to make it look a certain way.
<...yet somehow still> ....go figure

a thread to justify it... no. a thread to help decide... yes.

I will get wheels one way or another, its just a matter if its worth it to spend a little more for something lighter.

in my personal experience, going from rotas to volks, i have to say, it is worth the extra 1500 bucks to spend on wheels.i will never buy a heavy wheel again. but alot of people that put new wheels on their cars do it for looks. if you want performance, you have to pay.

as for the eco drive wheels, i saw them on the rays engineering website a few months ago but they arent on there anymore, so who knows.

thats the debate. I want them for looks, performance is a bonus but not needed. If I can get performance and gas millage that will eventually help pay for themselves.
