What is "GD3"

Searching around the forums and looking at stuff I keep seeing the term GD3 being used. I'm not a Honda guy so I'm not up to date with the terminology people use when talking about these cars. When I see things like VBP and things like that I assume thats the abbreviation for the colors. And Jazz... is that just the JDM Fit? GD3, I have no idea what thats supposed to me mean. Any other info to help figure out what everyone is talking about is appreciated, Thanks.

GD3 is our models that we currently used like example 1992 civic hatchback is known as EG model. 1996 civic hatchback is known as EK model. the numbers represent what type it is. So I'm not too sure what the 3 stands for. I'm sure there will be more explanations. VBP=Vivid Blue Pearl :O

I always see stuff like "I <3 my GD3" around this forum so I did a little snooping around and I think they're talking about the kind of Fit they own? So the U.S. has the GD3 code engine I take it that's what people are talking about?*

(from wikipedia)
*the following statement has been made by someone that knows next to nothing about cars.

chassis code is correct! some people like to use the codes which causes confusion for people sometimes.

I will ask around as to where to post it though...as in which forum?
