I was wondering if i have full coverage insurance,

will they replace my car(exact make, model, etc.) or will they just reimburse me for the cost?

The story is too tragic! i don't feel like talking about it right now maybe later.

Oooh WOW! Did you get hurt at all? Any passengers? Geeze the impact looked really bad.
Theyll give you the cost of the car. Youll have to find your own car I believe.
Sorry to hear and see your Fit all banged up.

HEY! Your avatar dude is like mine.

assuming you have gap insurance through the dealer or your car insurance company, they will give you the cost of the car (minus your deductible if you're at fault)

Full coverage just means your covered from someone hitting you, you hitting someone, or things you cant control (theft, weather, etc). Gap coverage is something you pay extra (i think i pay like $2/mo extra for my xB) that basically helps cover the fact that your car loses value once it rolls of the lot. If you total your car the day you buy it for say $16,000... Its no longer worth $16,000, and you haven't made a car payment on it yet, therefore the insurance company would give you X amount, leaving you with a crushed pepsi can, and a car payment. Gap coverage well, fills the gap, so you wouldn't be left owing money. The dealer and insurance company usually press pretty hard for you to get it, so i'm sure you do.

Unfortunately not. Gap insurance is to cover the difference between what the car would have been worth and what you might still owe (if what you owe is more then the value of the car).

Yeah man no prob. I had a scare on thursday, wife called crying saying she was rear ended by a "huge truck" and I was freakin out thinking it totaled my xB, and I was quick to call the insurance company to make sure I had gap coverage, turns out it was like a 2mph accident (xBs crash shitty BTW, dont replace your Fit with one..)

Glad everyone is alright, hope everything works out!
