I wouldn't be so quick to salvage parts from your Fit. Your insurance will be evaluating it and will know what's missing and will estimate the cost based on what he sees and reports. Blue book value will come into play as well in evaluating your total lost of the car. You may get less than what you may expect.

sorry for your loss. looks like the car can take a hit pretty well though.
insurance companies will usually give you the "retail" value of your car. you can look that up on kbb.com
when i had my accident years ago in my ford escort, my car was totalled and they gave me retail, which was actually pretty good. i couldn't have sold it private party for $6k, but they gave me $8,500

Sorry to hear you were in an accident - glad to know no one was seriously hurt. Hope you get things settled so you can get back on the road again. Someone hit my truck and ran a few years ago and it was a pain waiting
on repairs and driving that Neon! Yuck!

Sorry to hear
But I am glad to see/hear you on the board....so you are OK-ish? yes?
on a side note...
If you can, try and stay out of any dealings with the parting out of your
car until its at the salvage yard or breaker. Then try to purchase (unfortunately you will have to purchase) the stuff you would like to
salvage/keep from them and you could possibly sell it at either a profit
or to someone who really want/needs it. I tried to keep my seat from my
civic after my wreck and they said "sure... but it would delay the processing of the vehicle and they would lower the amount of my compensation, by an unfortunatly dissproportional amount" it was a bummer to hear but it was explained well and I appreciated their honesty.
good luck on a speedy recovery, physical and mental

Hard to say with out ripping it apart, but for you sake, I hope so, because it will never drive the same again. I've had a car repaired that was in worse shape than that, but it was on my own dime. You obviously need a bumper, fender, windshield, door, pass windows, suspension, a-pillar is ****ed, rocker is prolly ****ed... i'd say they would total it for safety reasons if anything.
