Either you know the law, at which point you've intentionally broken it, or you don't know the law... but guess what, ignorance of the law is not a valid defense in court.

Besides, the ticket just helped to reduce the tax burden on the rest of society. Wouldn't you rather help fund your state and local government through the misdeeds of others, rather than having your hard earned income taken away from you?
