Considering trading my car
Hey guys! I am curious to see if anyone here has traded in an 8th gen civic for a Fit?
Right now I am driving an 07 LX Civic sedan and I'm considering trading it in for a Fit sport. There's a couple of reasons I'm thinking about doing this.
1. Possibly save some money while I prepare to go to college (this is the part I'm mostly curious about, because I'm not sure how drastic the change in payments would be)
2. I would much rather have a manual transmission!
Thanks for any input!

I know that there are several ppl here that have traded in their 8th gen civic for a Fit...some were even Si's. I would recommend the Fit over the new Civic...i guess im just partial to hatchbacks. However, I dont know how much you'll save by buying a Fit...I guess it all depends what the dealer will give you in a trade. For MPG, the Fit isnt really a whole lot better than the Civic...from what Im hearing. I have driven both vehicles before...and I think the Fit is alot more fun to drive! Good luck.

lol... i laugh cause i had a 06CivicEX sedan (AT) and i traded that
in to get my 08FitSport 5MT.
best decision, never looked back. Fit is a much more fun car than
the AT Civic, that's for sure.
i got like $15.5k on the trade. dealer ripped me off , but i didn't care.
i wanted to get out of the lease and just pay cash on the FitSport.

I traded my 07 Si in for a fit. I just find the Si's interior really crappy. It scratches to easily and the seats were so delicate...even vacumming them made them fray.
1.)My payments went down like crazy.
2.)I feel the fit looks better (im partial to hatchbacks anyway).
3.)The interior is higher quality (if you can believe that)
4) Handles much better...much more fun to drive and w/the kraftwerks supercharger I know it will even better!
5.) more functional all around
I hope this helped you

my parents have a 2nd gen hybrid civic... yes we all know hybrids are slow... but i think the fit rides a ton better... the interior in the hybrid is a bit nicer, but my friend who has a 07 civic i find my interior comparable... the fit is more fun to drive... maybe not quite as quick but way better on gas, plus its better for hauling stuff, and as i said before way more fun to drive lol

I traded my '07 Civic Si Coupe - Fiji Blue - for a Fit Sport
Only remorse is for the stereo of the SI - other than that - I am super happy. My wife is too - she's going to be getting a Fit soon.
Manual transmission is fun in any car - but especially the Fit.
Keep in mind - a lot of folks you read about here on the board - have had many other cars - and have fallen in love with the Fit.
There are some definate cost savings going from the Si to the Fit - not sure about the LX. I'm betting that you'll lose money trading in so soon, and you won't see a huge fuel savings over the Civic.
On the other hand - interest rates are good - and I think are going to get better if the Fed cuts rates again - so depending on your rate for the Civic loan - you might come out better on payments.

Find a dealer who has 07's left and they will deal on them! And go ahead and save on gas in the long run with more storage and higher quality interior
