To all fit owners with decreasing gas mileage
How many miles do you have on your car?? I dont know why but this may have an effect on the gas mileage even if that makes little to no sense. Either that or gas quality is getting worse

21k Miles. Mileage is the same as always... 32ish. 39ish if it's 100% highway.
When I first got the car, I was very carefull to squeeze the maximum MPG out of it, so I drove like a granny (and it worked... 36MPG 100% city and 43MPG 100% highway at 55MPH)
When I just drive and don't worry about it, it comes out around 32MPG...

My summer mileage was about 38-39 mpg. Now that it's winter, I'm down to 32-33 mpg.
I read that you should expect about a 10% decrease in mileage in the winter due to oxygenated gas and the longer engine warm up time. Mine is actually about 15% lower...the rest probably due to my new wheels/tires.

Mpg
28,000 miles and getting average of 34 mpg +. I used to get around 35-37 in the summer time. Now it's 30-40 degrees around here. 40 city/60 highway. I usually drive 65 mph on highway. I usually shift at 2500 rpm, but will sometimes shift at 4000 rpms for fun (a couples times on each fill- up). I hope my mpg doesn't go below the 30 mpg range. That's scary to hear all those numbers.

I have a noob question concerning my recent bad milage. When I swithched to my 16" wheels with 40 series tires my overall diameter is now smaller than the stock sports wheels. Would that make my milage reading seem worse or better. I think I gave myself a headace trying to figure it out.

It would make your mileage seem better. Although I doubt it will change it any more than 1 or 2%. Your speedo gear will turn a certain number of times to indicate a mile has been driven. Your smaller diameter tires will turn more often and therefore indicate that a mile has been driven slightly more frequently.

hmmmm 2 fill ups. First time i averaged 28 mpg =[. Second fill up 35mpg........similar driving style.....im confused.....or it might of been because the first fill up there was much more city driving involved

I freaking hate my fit! I swear I get the worst gas mileage between all of you. The past 4-5 fill ups, I don't even think I get over 20 miles to the gallon. The gas lights comes on before I even hit like 190 miles and that's with just driving around normally trying to conserve on gas as much as possible. I just changed the oil like 8-900 miles ago so its good oil in there. I don't know what the hell to do!

i had 32 - 35 mpg but like all you guys i had 26 - 29 mpg. i put my car in honda cos it was drinking to much oil as well they replaced the valves and this seemed to help for a while. then it started drinking again. so the replaced the short block (for those of you that dont know thats the con rods pistons valves and some other small parts.)
Pics can be found here Putfile - Jazz X-treme ill post more pics soon they are on my phone.
After they did all that my MPG went back up to around 30 - 34 mpg. so maybe its sumthin to do with the pistons or valves or maybe you need to have your ECU remapped by honda, mine has been remapped 3 times now, they just upload new software to the ECU and done. hope this helps you guys out.

Gas mileage
There are so many things that will affect your mileage. When I bought my Fit, it as one of the first cars off the boat in 2006. Now I have 35,000+ miles on it. Until my first oil change I never gotten over 28.5 mpg combined. After changing to AMSOIL 0W-30 the mileage has gone to 32-37 mpg combined depending on the load/weather conditions. (PS, I'm an AMSOIL distributor, so don't be surprised at my choice of oils.. )
