Exclamation 2008 Fits Pulled off Dealer lots

New poster. I am looking at a used 2007 Fit but wanted to test drive one fist. I call the local Honda Dealer last Thursday and was told they received a call from Honda that morning telling them to pull all the Fits off the lot and no one can drive them. Something about a wiring problem. Does anyone know anything about this and what the problem is and if it also involves the 2007?

Wow ive never heard of a 08 wiring problem?
Definetly not a 07 wiring problem. Some dealers have no idea what they are talking about, and lie. But ill keep an eye on the problem.

oh no this sounds like anouther "dont take your spare tire out thread". haha. im gonna have to call my dealer tomorrow and find out. this sounds kinda fishy to me but in all fairness i guess it could happen. no car manufacturer is perfect.

FWIW I just logged into my Honda Owner Link and checked the recall section...

"There are no current safety recalls for your 2008 Honda Fit."

If there are, corporate isn't fessin' up yet.

its probabaly just a service bulletin, if there is several complaints or issues, then a recall will be issued. dont worry about anyting.

If my new 2008 sport catches on fire I guess I'll end up with another new one

Thats what insurance is for.

The bulletin won't be released until December 17th. Your vehicle won't catch on fire. However, it will cause the side air bags to either deploy prematurely or not work at all.

They are pulling the cars off the lots to fix this problem and then they'll be back. I still have to get the bulletin info. I'll email my brother-in-law today to see if I can get access to his Honda stuff.

This bulletin affects a little less than 20,000 2008 Honda Fit. Not entirely sure if it's only the Sport model or not. However, mine is listed in that recall.

cool, thanks for the info. if he can get the affected VIN#'s, that would be excellent (but as you said, it might not be available until the TSB is published 12/17).

I just recently bought a 08 Fit. I am wondering if this recall affects cars from Toronto, Canada? It arrived yesterday, they said they couldn't get the license plate # I wanted, so there's a delay.
