was planning to pull out my z this am, but with dense fog and wet roads i decided to
wait a while... so wife's out running errands (while checking out the new mirror )
and im babysitting our kids... hummmm... hope she likes the compass.

gentex gives you 3yrs/36000miles warranty on the mirror so that's kinda nice. just
register it by snailmail.

Asked my wife how she liked the new mirror with the compass and she said she forgot to look.

wadaya mean, forgot to look?!

I guess since the quality of these gentex mirrors are OEM, it is very invisible to most normal folks...which is a good thing.

Took my Z out for a drive, came home cleaned it off with Griot's SprayOn wax.
Also cleaned off the wheels with Prima Slick.

I cleaned the G's wheels and I'm happy to say that the Endless pads dust LESS than the brembo pads and brakes better, no squeeks. Brembo's squeek'ed on occasion. Very happy with these pads!

so the wife took the GE out again later this afternoon so i asked her again when
she got back what she thought of the new compass mirror.

she said it showed an "E." lol... man the abuse i take. hahaha

i guess im the only one excited about this mirror thing. she said yah, im the
only one waxing my red trash can in the garage and admiring it.

today came and went too fast. basically all i did was go to work and come home in my FitS. was a terrible day at work with problems after problems.

im glad my FitS's drive home was rather smooth although some arse hole in a
van tried to cut me off while i was trying to merge. a quick flick in the wrist
fixed that. (nono, i did not flip him off).

Kid woke me up, now cant get back to sleep. Hahaha...

Anyway, its getting much cooler now so I need to plan my trip to tirerack pretty soon...unless I can find a great deal locally for snow tires. this year I'm definitely going to run snows on my FitS. WS60 is my plan.

Not sure which size yet. I know they come in the 195/55/15, but I might go narrower for improved bite. 175/60 or something maybe. I don't care how it looks too much since its going to be so frikken cold no ones going to stand out there pointing at my tires and laugh.

yah, yaris sucks. hahaha. bascially i hate toyota's in general
including lexus. i think the toyota avalon is a japanese buick
where as yaris is like a japanese hyundai. actually, hyundai
genesis might be better quality than toyota these days.

on a more happier note, i was able to find some rocker switches
that will drop into the 3 dummy switches i got on my Z's center
console. the Touring trim has heated seats and the vert has
seat coolers so the switches were meant to be for those options.

mine is a Base trim with sports package so i got 3 dummies.
i hate dummies...switches or people.

On my GD I've noticed that I get this intermittent squeek noise coming from the driverside front. After the car's warmed up no noise.

Wonder what this is? Mouse? Squirrel? Bat?

On another note I bought a set of flatspot eliminators for my Z (winter hibernation).

Its made out of thick foam and looks like a takata lowprofile ramp but with a rounded dipped area where the tire will sit. it spreads out the weight on a larger area of the tire to prevent flat spots while parked over a long duration.

I didn't get one for the G cause its $250 for the set and I still got my factory wheels with tires I can use for storage.

Will keep you guys posted what it looks like when it comes in hopefully in a week's time.

So yesterday we had a long meeting at work and got home I was pretty tired.

I noticed my kids weren't around and wife called and asked me to pick them up with her after supper at grandma's. Was like 'aww man...I'm tired...' but after supper we went out in my FitS in the rain to pick them up.

By the time we got back my head was refreshed...and was like, damn, that was a good drive. FitS kicksarse.

imaging having to do this in a boring car like a toyota or something? Id probably just go to bed and never wake up. . Hahaha

Kinda off and on rain all day. Looks like I'm going to be spending most of time in the garage and music room.

TOOL- Hahaha! you know, that did thought did cross my mind.

Actually yesterday I went back and did a full polish on the Z's hood, fenders, doors, quarters, and rear gate. There were some deeper dealer installed swirls and this werd hazing I didn't get out last time.

Took about 4hrs to polish and rewax. Looks great. can't really tell unless I had someone do a macro pict so didn't take any picts, but now the reflection is very clear.

I use a standard 33W twisty blue-hue florescent bulb in a desk lamp as my swirl checking lamp. This thing reveals every little imperfection in the paint.

that twisty florescent bulb looks like this. you can get them pretty much anywhere these days. I got mine from homedepot. get one of these and those clip-on type desk lamps... total should be about $10-12. very good tool for detailing.

pressured both the GE and GD's tires today. running 38psi on the GE and 39psi on the GD (Fuzion). i like the firm ride. started using this compressor and it's pretty good.

wat i like best is its autoshuts off at the psi you set it at. so i pumpabout 1-2psi
more and use my digital tirepressure guage to release some air while getting the psi
perfectly.

wat i dont like is the nozzle fitment to the valve. it's a bit too tight... im sure with
use it will loosen up a bit.

As for pressure guages i use this. you can find the same thing cheaper elsewhere,
but i got mine from Griot's because it comes with that nice case.

motored my G afterwards and QD'ed. was a nice drive. i like how relaxing that
car is. had some new CD's in there so that made it kinda refreshing too.

this pm im going to take apart my Z's stereo and begin wiring up some lines for the
installs im doing this week.

- rearview camera
- rear foglamp (factory JDM/EDM lamp)
- interior LED's
- new bypass switch for dvd player.
