Golf is now making grinding noises and grooves in rotors are deep enough to call mountain ranges.
I'll give VW one more chance at the 30k service to do the right thing. If not, I'll be ordering new pads and rotors for it.
Can't say it's the wife's fault though. No kind of driver error causes rotor grooving. Well, unless the pads are down to the backing plate.
Edited to add...funny, but she leaves more cushion to other motorists than I do, but she late brakes for stop signs, stop lights, and definitely for turns. I'm always making the comment under my breathe that "we're going in hot." She just gives me the be quiet look. LOL

Any of you guys have those retracting sliding doors? Was considering one for the front door to increase air flow while preventing bugs in the house.
Also on MBP note...8gb ram should be plenty for office/interwebs/etc right? Not sure an extra $200 is worth going 16gb. I think Im over thinking this MBP like it's for me and I need all maxed out specs lol. Her 2012 Mac mini with it, 10gb ram, 256ssd and 500gb HDD have done better for her than any laptop haha.

Not really useful in SoCal winter...but other 10 months of the year would be helpful since we don't have AC

No AC???? Yikes! Says the guy working from home with his AC set at 74.
Yup, those are the ones that my next door neighbor has. You really don't notice them unless they are pointed out, but do a great job at keeping out flying pests.
Probably been up for close to 10 years now. No problems that i'm aware of.

well depending on where u live in socal, the shores gives super nice cool breeezes so AC is not a requirement. i mean it ain’t like 95F 100% RH with zero breeze like in da southern midwest..
and yah 8G should be plenty for normal use MBP’s.

Yeah some nights do get tough to sleep...even with the fan. Is what it is. I'd say maybe bothersome 30 nights out of the whole year. One day we will get AC up in here. Just tough...aka expensive for a 2 story with no existing ventilation ducts to leverage.

Split A/C units are becoming much more popular in the US. They are already the main HVAC in other countries. I'd highly recommend looking into that for a retrofit. Much cheaper and easier.
I'm considering one if we ever finish our basement. My A/C guy said it would be much more cost effective.

alright, got gas in da GTI, did a few house chores and now relaxing in my music room with icecream in hand.
so a CTR was trying to taunt me a few cars behind trying to catch up and race my GTI. u can tell he was just trying so desperately to get next to me but traffic was keeping him behind. as soon as traffic opened up i could see him approaching real quick in my mirror, but it was my street so turned off the road. lol haha so sad mang. so sad.
