yah, im not a computer programmer type like my wife so i just want a solid reliable unit to work each and every time. i dont mind that i cant customize too much cause im after the content, not so much the customizing. less is more in this case.

i dont like android either as it's kinda like a beta system all the time too.. needs constant updating. so annoying.

alright, with the GK's nice cargo capacity i was able to force the 2 trips into one. it took a little bit of tetris type organizing lol.. but was able to fit everything plus my kid and we made the delivery to good will.

also did a few more house chores and now relaxing in my music room.
going to work on my GTI's wheel touchup after lunch.

k.. iOS11.3 seems to be working okay for now. my battery capacity (beta) shows 98% or 2% degraded from the time i bought the phone. not bad.

think going to head out in the GK to McD's to grab some sausage mcmuffin with egg for lunch..

woot took the fam in the GK for a quick bite at McD's. so happy they do breakfast any time of the day. hash browns total win.
and not having to have to think about getting my car getting dinged or scratched is a good thing.

pulled out the GTI's summers and touched up the graphite. the chip was only 3x3mm. not sure why it appeared so huge last Fall. my eyes playing sarcasm. lol was able to mix graphite and a very small touch of silver to match the color. it is so close it hides by the angle of light. will check it again tomorrow am to see how it dries and let it dry for a week before handling the wheel. im excited.

Hmm. I have a mini 3 and it's been great. I went with it because I didn't want the larger device for having to hold. Especially for when I'm playing on it in bed.

With my aging eyes, I may go for the larger screen next time though. Tough choice.

yah, have a 8" (?) galaxy for the OBD11 and i agree, it's a great portable size. the screen on the ipad mini4 is laminated which i hear is fantastic, but then with my clumsiness, im going to use a screen protector anyway so not sure. they are both retina screens...

hummmm...

decided to go with the ipad mini4 (128GB). i know it's old but then again i got a good deal on it and as GAFIT mentioned, i like the size (and weight) better than the standard ipad plus the semi anti-glare screen.

should have it in my hands later today.

updating ipad mini4 to iOS11.3.

took the GK to the local store to grab my ipad. so for the first time i used the GK's volume controls on the dash to see wat the fuss was by people complaining about not having a volume control knob.

wtf mang, the volume bar on the screen works PERFECTLY! i was able to repetitively adjust volume down to the increment each time while driving. i dont get these useless complaints by dumbarse mofos forcing the car makers to get distracted from working on the real issues on the car. so stupid.

..anyway back to my new ipad.

Well count me in as a "dumbarse mofos"Ken. I think touch controls in a car are an incredibly stupid thing for a car company to do. Do you actually think a car company cares what I think? Do you feel that all those with different opinions than yours are mofo's? Just wondering.

hahaha.

if the volume slider actually sucked functionally i would agree, but these days everything is going touch panel and that is how it should be. sure my VW's and subie both have volume knobs, but then again as with the GK's slider, i RARELY use them cause i use the steering controls.

putting a mechanical switch (or potentiometer in this case) is extra cost the oem's should not have to waste time and money on. how about instead fixing the VTC rattle. that is a problem they need to fix. volume slider, who cares.

I like & dislike touch screens. I'm keen on physical buttons to change tracks/stations & a knob to adjust the volume.

Also a button to turn the screen on/off. When I go look at the new Corolla as a potential fit replacement, not having that button would be a deal breaker.

alright so it is a stupid sub freezing april fools joke of a day this am. should go paint some raw eggs and hide them. lol.

deciding whether i want to pull out my R or just skip the entire drive cause itll be too cold after the drive to do a wipe down. but then again it rained yesterday so the roads should be pretty clear. i dont have the urge to go motoring right now so might just skip it and wait for a more ideal day. yah, i think im going to skip today and go make myself another cup of starbucks.

have a happy easter and sunday everyone!

meh decided to get off my lazyarse and pulled out my R for some motoring fun. was a great relaxing drive.

i noticed that even in the mid-high 20F's, the contact-5p were sticking quite well.. guess i wont be swapping wheels this Fall cause i dont plan on driving the car in the wet anyways. one less thing go do. woot!

and wat to do with the $3350 i just saved not buying the BBS CI-R's with new tires..
