The Official Blog from GD to GE to GK to GTI to R?

In theory, maybe you could do the work without removing the cowl, but I think your life would be easier to just remove it. It comes off easier than you'd think. Honda definitely plans on it being removed.

sounds like you folks have a busy weekend coming up fixing up your cars.
just got home and tired as hell. honestly i think grinding at the office kills me more than traveling for work. but anyway, im happy to be home. had a nice enjoyable and relaxing drive in my GTI. cant wait to get the summers back on the car!

on the menu today. just a repeat of my grinding day at the office.
i hear we are having a little party at the office this pm. kinda nice.
i got my insurance bill for the GTI next semi-yr. so cheap. insuring the Golfs are a bargain. the GK costs more.
have a good tuesday everyone!

I have to pay up for the S2000 & Fit this month. Other than my mortgage this is my biggest bill
Stupid Fit & its ridiculous premiums.
The thing costs 20% more to insure than my S2000 which doesn't have a ton of airbags, no traction/stability control, less safe in a crash, more powerful, etc.

Very strange! Maybe it varies by area or company. I'm in GA with USAA. The Fit is way cheaper than our Golf. Maybe it's just because it has low value if they have to pay out?
I keep considering dropping full coverage since it has such low value, but it's only like $20/month extra for full coverage vs minimum.

it’s actually the old people and old people causing accidents in the Fits that are raising prices per my major insurer. pretty funny if you asked me.
my R and STI are under leisure car insurance but the GTI has the same policy as my GK. GK is considerably higher despite it being less than half the power output and value near half of my autobahn GTI ..

Yeah my insurance is highly related to mileage driven. My premium for the year for my civic and motorcycle is something like $1500. With the Fit it was slightly higher since I drove it as primary...but now I split miles between the miata/civic. Miata is insured by my Aunt so win-win haha.
Any of you guys new a PC Store like Frys or Microcenter? Been searching high and low for a damn GPU for our new CPU build but prices on amazon/ebay are insane.
I've checked my Frys/Best Buys at least once or twice a week for a month and all they have are super low end stuff like the Nvidia 1030 or RX560. Not worth my $ or time.

I suspect it is a combination of that & how easily the cars are totaled out.

Good point! Some of the "totaled" Fit pictures I see are pretty amazing. I look at it thinking in my Domestic mindset..."eh, that'll buff out."
Our Fit took a pretty good hit in the back end, but we got really lucky that the bumpers lined up. I bought a new bumper cover from Honda, had it painted, and swapped it. There's just a minor dent on one of the metal tabs on the metal bumper under the cover.
In contrast, a tech at my wife's old dealership/workplace backed a GE into the front of an Expedition inside the service bay. Totaled the Fit. INSIDE the service bay at like 5mph. Bumpers didn't line up. Crumpled the rear quarters, blew out the hatch glass, etc. Put a small scratch on the Expedition that touch up paint fixed.
To be fair to the Fit, all of these little (under 3,000 lbs) cars are ticking time bombs for wrecks. Hit the wrong spot and they grenade themselves. Passengers are usually fine, but the cars just disintegrate.

Just embrace the vape life. You know you want to. LOL
Some hilarious stuff in the link below. Even funnier given that Cobb is a Subie tuner.

All brands seem to have some stigma today.
I almost died laughing the other night though. Saw 3 guys in an STI in a drive through in front of me. They were passing around a vaporizer.

i still dont get it. subaru made the STI for 40-50yr olds who wanted to experience the nostalgia of good ol' old tech (brushed up) cars. not to entertain pre-30yr old children with vapes. lol
not dat i really give a shit but.

it was the brz dat was supposed to entertain the girly-boy generation (aka pre 30yr old boys in jland) yet middle aged farts with some spare change in my age group buys them in j-land. lol they got it all backwards.
id never buy a brz for myself mang. if rwd 2 door coupe, M2 would be my choice.

STI is a bit gawdy.
BRZ is a classic light, low sports car in the long hood/short rear deck proportions we've always expected.
To me it makes perfect sense why the BRZ buyer would trend older than the STI.
