streamed a few TV shows this pm and felt super unproductive so took a break and cleaned up and re-organized the basement storage space for car parts. now i have enough space to place 5-6 new wheel sets. not that im getting any more..
the winter sets for STI, GTI, and GK are now in standby mode to bring up to the garage.
i have this big bridgestone tire cover/sleeve thingie (those covers you see at race tracks) so put that over my factory GTI wheels i will not use until the day i decide to sell the car. tirerack gave it to me a while back when i bought a bunch of wheel sets at one time.
also transferred the VW center cap from the curbed Golf-R wheel to the new wheel.
needed some TLC to get it to fit correctly.. the center cap snaps were too narrow (euro-precision) and was too loose on the new wheel so took a heatgun to spread the fingers and snapped it in.

Nice turbo and tint!
Hope everyones weekend went well.
I got the bike back together...went to start it...and just a "click" noise =/
After troubleshooting its starter related so I gotta remove it and rebuild it. Geez...
Anyhow. Happy Monday!

Yeah according to troubleshooting guide its starter...according to interwebs its battery OR starter.
Gotta try and jump start the bike.
If it starts...then its battery. If it doesnt start...then its starter.
When is your R getting tint? Surprised the OEM windows dont provide UV protection. Im fairly positive my Honda windows provided UV protection.

Maybe the Acura RLX has solar glass, but I doubt any other Honda models have it. You can check the glass itself. It will say Solar Glass or UV Glass or something if it has protection.
My Lincoln has sound deadening layered glass, but it still only blocks something like 35% UVA/B. Most side glass is zero, so it's better than nothing.
Typically only the windshield and sunroof have UV protection from the factory.

the R's due for tint tomorrow right around this time.
the factory glass has uv protection (?) but that alone does not block off heat as ceramic tint can. i mean it is a night day difference. i've never felt hot inside my GTI with ceramic tint from the rays.

My understanding is that factory solar glass is still only like 30-35% UV rejection and, like kenchan said, near zero heat rejection.
Window film has come such a long way! You can get nearly clear film now with amazing heat and UV rejection.

Yeah I know the tint provides heat rejection. Just read earlier about his left side "sunburn" which is UV related.
Either way the tint will help and look nice.
GAFIT, I think that says "If all else fails put it in a bowl of dry rice"

I may take you up on the translation offer! I'll see how it goes. Staring at misc parts as we speak. So far it appears I'm missing the oil feed line. Will need to take measurements and have that made up.
Thankfully, I don't think the auto/manual thing will matter for me since I'm not going to use the supplied HKS F-Con thing. Going straight to Hondata, bigger injectors, and pump. If I don't loose my sanity installing the hard parts, maybe the programming part will push me over the edge.
It looks to me like the kit was mocked up on a car and then never ran. Everything looks new including a new OEM oil pan that has a bung welded in for the oil return, but some stuff was has been partially assembled. Maybe it was used as a wall display.

GAFIT- i'm sure u can get the kit to work especially with ur fabrication skills.
so was cleaning the interior glass on my R to prep for tint tomorrow but to my surprise the glass has a stubborn layer of smudge that won't come off with alcohol, motor spray, various cleaner, magic eraser. wtf! i used scratchx with foam pad for the worst smudges and got rid of it, but mang this is terrible. once dry and no humidity the smudges disappear, but if i breath on it the smudges reappear.
i hope my tint guy can maybe use some steam or something to rid it off before install.. i've heard it's not a big deal as long as it's not visible when dry but this sucks.
it's not like i can completely polish either cause i don't want to rub against the seals and plastic... it would be a huge hassle if i need to use masking tape.. will see how it goes.
