now dirty like hell again. lol hahaha

looks like the next ride will be paid for by my wife's company. not a bad deal, but will need to wait a few months as they are doing the budgeting right now.

will decide probably between a GK and CRV...

woah, haven't posted in a while. I am still here, cars are still here.

no GK yet, still not 100% sold due to the fact that it is still too early to tell reliability.
wife is also checking out the CRV. we should know direction in a couple of weeks.

Dang it, very busy this year with work + other hobbies. May is almost over already?

Yah, the car for the wife is still pending. She's been busy with work and kids PTA meetings and stuff, no time to really visit a dealer and sit down to choose a car. I know the brakes on my 09 GE is getting pretty low so I've been pressuring her to get the new ride real soon.

Her candidates are still the '15 Impreza hatch (made in Japan) and the '15 GK sport AT.

Happy Independence Day, everyone!

yah, been away for a while, but i still got my GE and enjoy driving it to work and back everyday. incredibly reliable car for sure, my '12.
not one issue since taking ownership back in august 2012.

anyone know if there's a way to add heater coils to the side mirrors? that's the one last thing i could really use on this car during the colder months.

We've got a 6 speed on our lot right now actually! haha

I'm currently waiting for the 2016s to get here. Rumor has it from my sales manager that they are ALL coming from Japan... Though I am a bit leery about this. On the other hand, I have read on a post through here that about 40k are supposed to be made in Japan. So who knows...

Best of luck on your search.

thank, hootie. got a 2016 orchid(sp?) CVT white EX today. took a while to find this one though... had to go to several dealers as their on-hand inventory kept changing by the hour. they had a lot of manual transmissions but no CVT EX in white or silver, all sold. couldn't get any discounts but got all season matts thrown in, paid cash. sales guy was a good guy too, so i have no regrets.

i kept the wheel locks from the 09 GE so im using that, i shall install the self-dimming mirror with compass tomorrow.

car is very nice for the price, it's like a civic and with all the new electronics it has i am sure the wife will be very pleased. i bought it for her.

Glad to hear you scored one!

Invest in Weather Tech floor mats. They cover SOOO MUCH BETTER than the OEMs.

yah, once the factory one starts to wear we will definitely get weathertechs.

I installed the self dimming mirror with compass this am. was a quick install. i didn't know they put the fuse chart label under the steering column so took me a while to find it. lol had to look at the owner's manual.

i did notice that the factory mirror base screw was kind of loose when i took it off. might want to torque that down a little (torx) if anyone gets a new GK, just in case.

also check ur power windows. i didnt check during delivery as it was hot outside and didnt even cross my mind to check. my driver seat window closes but wont go down all the way unless i push it down by hand. it's not stuck in the seals, it sounds like it separated from the track. wat a pos. couldnt believe this elementary level defect on a modern car.

will get this fixed, also alignment. steering wheel not perfectly straight to my liking.

i also checked psi on all 4. rear tire passenger side was low. im going to check again later today to see if there's a leak. not too worried about the tire.

actually, im not too worried about any of the issues i found. they are easy to fix, just a hassle bringing the car in.

Here's what I like about the GK...roominess! Especially the rear seat wells, surprisingly roomy. Trunk is also deeper. I also like the keyless entry, pushed button start, all the electronics.

As for driving dynamics, feels like a larger car than the GE, still some crosswind instability on the expressway. The driver seat is nice too as i can lower the driving position closer to a more sporty car.

thanks for the sympathies. yah, it was kinda sad cause my wife hasn't even driven the new GK yet. i went over all the features with her this am after installing the self dimming mirror and she was going to take it out this afternoon when the sudden storm came in just moments before she was going to leave.

quarter sized hail. my house sounded like it was getting pegged by rocks.

anyway my wife cracked up that now she doesn't have to worry about putting the first scratch on the car. lol

i was checking access points on the roof but due to the side curtain airbag module, i think i'm going to need to pull it from outside instead.
