wat are you guys' thoughts on the versa note? thing is cheap (price)... loaded one with nav
and bt is only 19.5K + tax msrp. i was looking at the loaded model with sl and sl tech package
or watever it's called. 2015 i hear will have sl package that includes everything.

i read interior materials feel and look cheap...but if you can get over that it's not a
terrible car. i looked at interior picts and they weren't kidding...thing reminded me of
a pos yaris from like 8yrs ago. lol

a similar equipped 15 fit-sport is $2k more.

wat im getting at is my 09 is going to be retired pretty soon and my wife doesnt care
to get a nicer car. she wants either another fit, check out the note at least, or just
keep driving the now starting-to-rust 09 until the thing falls apart...

Versa interior is super cheap. Rear seat space is impressive though.

I'm really interested in the new Mazda 2 and updated 2015 Yaris, my GF is in the market for a new car as well; and those two, along with the 2015 Fit, are the front runners.

wife mentioned the 09's got this metallic rattle coming from the center front area so i took the car out for a test drive over the weekend. i couldn't hear anything, but noticed that the plastic hood prop bracket had a lot of play. i made a little gasket and taped it on there..will see if that was the cause or not. if it still rattles, i guess i will check the grill for any play.

my '12 GE is 2yrs old this week.

so far ive had zero problems, driven spiritedly, sometimes borderline abusively.
i have 13K+ miles on the odo. i like the reliability, fuel cost which i really dont care,
but no need to pay extra on, car feels slow in 70F+ weather, but in cooler weather
feels good.

best mods to date are the swifts, tanabe muffler, and honda leather shift knob. cant go without these 3.

optiona goodness i like on my car is the doubledin pioneer HU with BT, variable
wiper stalk, tinted side/rear windows. all very convenient things to have.

no other mods planned, i want to paint the spokes on my enkei's to tone down the
brushed aluminum look a little bit. might work on that this week before temps
start to take a dive for Fall.

as of today i plan to keep it another 1-2yrs. will replace with a car with a tad more
power next time as my kids are getting bigger/heavier and in the summer the car
just feels real sluggish for my liking.

will look at the accord sport sedan MT, or if i can make peace with AT,
i will get the latest model IS350.

as far as maintenance goes on my '12, in the past 2yrs i did 2 oil changes using mobil1 green cap (0w20),
replaced intake filter, cabin filter, inspected everything visually.

will be doing the oil change and brake fluid change next year. that's about it. so easy to take care and maintain this car.

noticed my rear passenger side tire pressure low.... haha. it's almost always that corner for me.

i plugged it and verified that the plug was not leaking using some soapy water... but it's still leaking slightly... maybe somewhere else. i noticed a few cuts on the tread, probably from driving through so many construction sites this season. will take another reading after work today.

looks like the valve core was leaking just a little. i tightened it a little more snug and psi did not drop afterwards. will check again later, but when i got home from work i
swapped to my DWS setup with 16x7 gunmetal wheels. lightweight and now i can spin the wheels on demand like a real MT car. lol (disable vsa)

checked psi this am on the tire i plugged. psi was holding. will check again in the Spring, i suppose,
and decide then whether to take it in for a patch or not.

i think it was the slightly loose valve core cause i saw no bubbles when i put that soapy
solution over the repaired plug.

driving to work in the DWS setup was not bad. the wheels are 3lbs lighter and the tires are like 1-2 lighter vs my enkei and RE760, so the car felt good. on top of that, 55F was real nice for power. oh, and the ability to turn off VSA is a major plus.

retorqued the lugs last night when i got home.

so i looked at the weight difference between my winter set (pos 16lbs 16x7 wheel + DWS) vs my summer (enkei 19lbs 17x7 + RE760) sets. gross 6lbs per corner difference each. no wonder my car accelerates and brakes so much better. turns quicker too.

cleaned the glass on the inside on both GE's and applied rain-x on the windshield.
should be ready for the rainy week coming up.

been re-torquing the lugs the last couple of days. still backing out slightly on one of
the wheels.

hope to get my wheel decals today. kinda excited... not sure why.

i found 2 additional small scratches on the top of my rear bumper.
dang it... i dont know how im getting scratches on there. guess i will
accumulate a tad more before putting on the oem applique. lol

i just cant see how that strip of rubber or watever is $50 though...
too expensive for wat it is.

i put on the red center cap decals on my gunmetal wheels last night. looks good. will take snaps later.

i want to add another red accent somewhere towards the rear of the car...maybe
on the rear side window to finish it off.

thanks, yah, i saw a thread on it a few days back. someone was having issues with the top mount or something. might be just a install error.
