been a while since the last post... well, not really. was in japan last week.

i saw a lot of fits including the new ones. the new ones look good in person. the pictures you see on the sites do not do the car justice. not that im going to be getting another fit. my '12 is the last one i will be owning... so i think.

if my kids want one down the road that could be in discussion as i will have to cosign for them while they're teens. will probably end up just buying the cars cash and let them work out something where they pay me back on an interest-free pops-loan or something like that. no need for banks to make money.

yah, i checked out a few juke nismos yesterday.... the shape does not interest me as much as i thought it would.
dealer would only allow test drives on the non-nismo jukes... which ive already done back in '12.

i think i'd be happier with the 2014+ cooper-s if not this car. will check out the wrx hatch down the road.

Have you checked out the Paceman or Countryman yet? It's bigger than the out going R56 Coopers (not sure about this new gen.) BUT... To me it seems as if the interior space in the Countryman at least is VERY similar to that of the GD3.

stopped by homedepot to get some repair supplies to work on my house. was raining like hell off and on, but the RE760's and my '12 handled it like a champ. very confidence inspiring.

used my weatherbug app's radar to track rain and timed my entrance and exit to the store. i see people running across the parking lot in pouring rain with no umbrella and im like 'use technology much?' lol

drove my 09 today to charge the battery. hadn't driven it since last weekend.

i need to grind down the rust in the rear quarter arch and touch it up... it's not too bad, but i need to take care
of it now before the rust really eats away at the metal... 6yrs..

i think its time i start looking for a replacement..

bird crapped on my car.

so took my disposable glove, QD, and soft paper towel to spray and lift the crap off.
then i hold the paper towel in a ball in the ball of my hand, pull off the glove inside out,
tie the glove like a balloon with towel inside the glove. and toss out. no need to touch
bird crap and watever diseases it might have.

walla!

had to drive through this 'fresh oil' construction zone this morning... yuk i drove real slow trying to minimize any kickup.

i usually use RC car motor spray (or nitro RC cleaner) to remove tar and these oils.
wax and gasoline also works. will require re-wax.

maintenance reminder wrench came on my '12. i have 0w20 green cap mobil1 ready to go.
will change oil this long holiday weekend along with the intake and cabin filters.

will also do the coolant drain/fill on my 09. need to replace the hose clamps too...
completely rusted after 6yrs of salt infested snow belt state driving.

i also have a lot of fluid change related work planned for my other cars.

i did a lot of driving today in my '12 carrying the family around. wife and kids had a
great time at the stores, i had a great time driving. luv driving this car in tight
space.

but at one railroad crossing it had a SUPER big bump .. was too late to brake
hard enough, took the impact at 40mph+. i think i literally left my seat for a split second,
that's how hard the car took the hit. was pretty sure alignment screwed, wheels
bent, maybe even a bulged shock tower... but the car tracked straight, inspected
the wheels and towers, no issue.

im going to be doing the oil change tomorrow so i will inspect the suspension while
im under there along with the inner tire sidewalls for any bubbles.

happy 4th, everyone.

i did my '12's oil change... come to think of it, i forgot to reset the reminder. lol
will do that later. i checked the suspension arms, etc... seems like the car did not
sustain any damage from the huge bump yesterday. also have to give thumbs up
to enkei for making their cheap wheels strong. im pretty sure if it was drag or
xxr wheels they would've shattered.

also did my 09's coolant change, replaced the rusted out hose clamps.
