alright, called collgehills (not sure why i need to call for an online
transaction...wife cracked up when i told her about this idiotic
situation..she was like 'whaat? why do you need to call for that??!)
and they said they'll send the right ones with a calltag for the wrong
ones... will see how that goes.

i dont trust anything until i see it.

such a waste of time. shouldve just went to the dealer.

never again am i buying wiper refills online.

since we're at it, there are the correct PN's for the 2008's FRONT WIPER
REFILLS:

76632-SLN-A11
76632-STK-A01

but like i mentioned before, dont buy these online cause some stores
like collegehills ships them in a small box bent up... at least make sure
with the online store to ship you in long cardboard sleeves.

the blades need to be straight to minimize memory in the rubber material.
otherwise it can end up chattering or uneven wipe leading to a reduced
perfoming blade...even though you paid the same.

i need to start prepping for my oil change pretty soon. down to 30%, should go into the 15% in a week or two.

going to run Mobil1 in the 5W20. i have a few honda filters and crush
washers for the Fit in my garage from the misc online purchases ive been
doing the last several months. i recommend you buy these maintenance
stuff while you order your other accessories online so that you dont get
hit with the full freight/handling charge. well, duh...but just bloggin'

lol... so i didn't sell it. will call the stupid store to get the
exchange. all this f-king non-sense just for a pair of refills. such a
waste of time. guys dont buy from collegehills.com they absolutely
shine when it comes to shitty service.

anyway, he showed me his sound system and let me listen to it. was a nice
2din eclipes (fujitsu-ten) and dang, it sounded awesome! he said
he hadn't changed out the speakers yet... i was amazed how good
the stock speakers sounded. huh...

i might have to try something like that down the road.
Hey!! Nice meeting up with a fellow Fitfreak, even if we couldn't do the deal!!

Your ride was looking SWEET!

The Eclipse 6620 is a real nice head unit!! What he did not say was it wasn't even fully installed yet! LOL! Just got it all wired up, still cleaning up the wiring (running the GPS antenna wiring and stuff), but at least he got to hear it through the stock speakers. For as cheap as people say the stock speakers are, they do not sound half bad with the good head unit! I will be swapping out the front speakers this weekend!

hey brdss!!

yah, thanks for let me listen to your stereo. so did you find a good spot
for that GPS antenna? where did you end up placing it?

as of now im running the stock HU and stock speakers with the EQ
set at GROOVE bass -3, treble -1. it's decent for wat it is, but when
i heard your stereo with the stock speakers i was like that's from
stock speakers?! sounds pretty damn good!

which components are you going with for your front speakers (if you dont mind)?

Still have not finished it as I had to go to work right after meeting with you, then the wife took it! Hopefully will get it finished today! I am going to be installing a set of Canton's for the front. They are a German speaker company that is more well known for their high end home audio speakers, but also design and build some great car speakers as well. When I get it all done, would be more than happy to let you hear it! Not going to add a sub or anything at this time, just wanted a better sounding system than the stock. The double din Eclipse also really stands out nicely in the car, like it really belongs there in the first place!

cantons, huh? nice. those are like MBQuart level then as far as
performance? yah, that schoshe (sp?) bezel looked like a
good match for the interior too, like you said, it almost looked
factory finish!

i thought i wasn't going to touch the stereo, but after seeing and
listening to yours, i may have to down the road. that
nav looked good too.

went out to the supermarket again in my FitS with my two little kids
and wife. i noticed today that my older kid can now get in/out my Fit
without stepping on the inner door jam area. so happy. now i dont
have to keep wiping the darn plastic piece each time we go shopping
due to his frikking foot prints. ... well until my younger one starts
walking more. well, this is one of
the many reasons why i didnt want to spend much money on my dd
anyway.

you should see the scratches he put on my LegacyWgn's door jam
area.. and side skirts. took some work, but cleaned it all out.

gonna be cleaning out the door jams today using some Prima Hydro. it is
a spray on type polymer wax that lasts a long time. while washing the
FitS yesterday i forgot to wipe down the door jams. i use it as a
maintenace wax over glass, paint, and all the seals (doesnt smear
doesnt make the plastics/rubber white) and use it as a lubricant to
clean the doorjams while leaving behind a durable wax. durable i mean
4+ wks.

going to clean all the kids foot prints off the inner door panels too in the
back seat near the sills.

been doing a lot of errands lately with the kids and wife...and using
the expressway quite a bit. the intake and muffler is noisy...
i have the SSI and megan muffler.

i think im going to take the SSI off and sell it pretty soon. it's a nice
intake and not loud when im alone, but the constant higher revs to
maintain the speeds i need with added weight of the family and cargo
it's just too noisy for me.

i dont want to get rid of the megan axleback yet cause i really like the
look of the muffer... will remove the intake first and see where it takes
me. i suppose worst case i'll go back to factory muffler all together.

chicagoland's starting the temperature drop for the fall starting this week...
high was about 75F until about yesterday...by this weekend
the temps will only to up to about 65F...

which means, 1psi change in your tirepressure per 10F change, so
check your tire pressures. if you are at 33psi today, by the time
temps drop 10F, your tires will be at 32psi and so on.

i use anywhere from 32 to 34 psi on this car. i will be pumping more
air later on the week.

also DONT FORGET TO CHECK YOUR SPARE! people forget all the
time. would suck if your spare is flat when you most need it.

Found a great spot for the antenna!!! I pulled out the intrument cluster (very easy to do and removed the "hump" shade. The GPS antenna mounted in the hollow area of the shade really well, gives me full strength for the GPS, no holes in anything, and is invisible! Works out great!

that's a great idea! away from the electronics so less RF noise.

i still haven't heard back from collegehills for the replacement refill and
the calltag.... hopefully tomorrow i'll get it in the mail.

hey guys, glad to be back online.

so brdss- what are your thoughts on the Kenwood double din units
with nav? I read a few reviews over at Crutchfield that it's very tricky
to update the nav software..one mistake and the thing locks-up. wont
even bootup. but the nav is by garmin and suppose to be pretty great(?).

but given the lower price than the fujitsu-ten, i think it might be a better
match for me... i kinda like the fact that the CD can be inserted while the
screen is on although the LCD is a tad smalle r. less mechanical parts to
break down in the cold weather..

so this morning i removed the SSI (intake) in hopes that it will quiet
things down while driving with the family... just to tone things down
a little on the expressway so that we dont have to talk over all the
engine noise.

only to findout that there's really no difference in noise level other
than a richer tone at higher RPM's with the SSI vs stock.

so, 1hr wasted for nothing. think im going to put
it back on the car...

asked collegehills again... they said they'll send the replacement
and calltag today. SURE~~~

so ive been driving around with the stock intake the last 2 days.
in comparison to the H-Fit SSI intake, there are some pro's/con's
for the stock-intake.

PROS for stock intake vs SSI:
- higher resolution throttle response especially noticable during
small inputs.
- less noise at higher rpm (could be a con for some of you... lol)

CONS for stock intake vs SSI:
- immediate input for kind of a burst type acceleration is gone.
- macro level throttle response is also gone.
- the higher rpm feels like the car's gasping for air unless you roll
off the throttle a bit.

overall the SSI is an effective intake especially for those that are
looking for those larger input quick responses. there is definitely a
difference.

My car DEFINETLY got louder when i put on my Weapon R short ram.
I also have the Megan axle-back. Its a good louser though, sounds strong.
If i decide to keep my Fit, ill be getting a Megan mid-pipe aswell, then my car will be pretty loud heh.

yah, i think the mid-pipe will make the tone much deeper.

hey been doing some studying on doubledin nav receivers and i think
the Kenwood DNX5120 might be the one i go with. not sure yet though.

anythoughts? I don't really need the full blown features. I plan to add
stuff like HD tuner and BT module. that's about it.
