hummmm... after looking at my G while i QD'ed her over the weekend, im thinking perhaps i should invest in a clear bra for my 12 GE. was only one year of using my G for dd through winter and the front has many tiny chips. since my G is old and planning to retire her in now 1yr 11months, i dont plan to do anything further to enhance, but if im going to do clear bra on my '12 GE, i should do it right away.

looking at the price for pre-cut, it's $312 shipped.. and i do clearbra installs myself so that would be the total cost. but then, getting the front bumper repainted costs about that too. lol so not sure which is better.

yah, considering i can get 3M rolls of clearbra pretty cheap on amazon (and i dont feel like taking the front plate off again since im using security screws and decorative caps) i think im going to measure the widest front part of the bumper and get a roll to match that size.

looking at my 09 GE, i can see the areas most prone to impact, so i will just do those areas. i tend to drive at least 3-4sec behind the car in front, so it's not a huge issue.

yah, i will check those out. im not a big fan of buying fake wheels though... they look like volk wheels.

so a bit of a WTF moment on my droid4. motorola/verizon decided for me that i wanted an system upgrade. hell, they didn't give a f- if i wanted it or not.

i lost 2 contacts due to the fact that the short-cut favorite contacts were showing up in double for some reason. i though i deleted just the short cut, it frikken deleted the actual contact. FAAAK!

Almost all Rotas are some kind of replica. I thought you wanted cheap wheels for the winter set is all.

yah, cheap wheel is true. i just am not a believer in supporting fake parts. in this case i should go back and consider the TRM's. lol

..anyway..

i wonder if my car would rub running 16x7 ET40 with 205/50/16 snow tires... snow tires are usually narrower thread especially the WS60's i want to run, so im guessing i wont...

i suppose worst case i could try a different size tire like 185/55/16 (stock)

Yes! They are maybe the coolest original cheap-os out there that I've seen. And w/ just the drop on the springs you have, I wouldn't worry about rubbing with 16s at all. I had Tein S Tech springs for a while and running 205/50/16s on the stock wheels. Granted they are ET53, but there was still plenty of wheel gap so I never rubbed. MAYBE if you autocrossed it you would get some body roll and the fenders would kiss the tires MAYBE. But I doubt you plan on doing that during the winter. Height-wise between 185/55 and 205/50 your increasing less than 1 mm! So yeah the only thing to factor in would be tread width and offset. Since you have a little bit of wheel gap right now running 17s, 16s should not be a problem.

yah, i just want the car to look good even in the snow season... i mean, there's really no point in having a hot hatch if it looks like shit, you know.

i will DEFINITELY be running 205/50 vs 185/55.

ordered up another motorola roadster2 dedicated to my '12.

will measure the cord length i want to use from the visor to the dual usb power socket i have in the cup holder area. will just keep it plugged in. will run the usb cable down the a-pillar, behind the dash, through the LED light cover, and into the cup holder area.

i have a hardwire module but the usb cord side is too short where the dongle would get caught in the a-pillar...and there's no way in hell i want a power dongle flying into my face in an event of a crash when side airbag deploys. hahahahaha

so if i do the TRM 16x7 and WS60's im looking at 1088 otd with 7% tax. i think southbend is 7%. + 100 to yank the tpms out of the stock wheels... so about 1200.

if i cheap out and do 185/55/16 WS60's on stock wheels, it would be 492... dang, that leaves me with 600+ for other mods. hummm....

It should be able to detect K and X bands easily. Ka -- this might be questionable.
