I'm planning to get a remote starter for my Fit but will that void my warranty
hello all
my first post
i got a 2008 Fit base version this week and i'm planning to buy a remote starter from circuitcity (python 1400xp) for $199.99 with installation. if i do that will that void my warranty (3yrs/36000miles)?
thanks in advance

The manufacturer would have to be able to prove that your aftermarket item caused a failure to deny warranty coverage. As long as the remote starter has nothing to do with the item in question (say, a bad window regulator), you should have no problem.
Dealers will often try to scare folks who are uneducated, but if you understand the rules, you shouldn't have any trouble.

btw..did they (Circuitcity) bypass the immobilizer? i thought the system bypasses the immobilizer only when i use my remote.if they did bypass the whole system, can i use a valet key to operate my car?
thanks

when i went to CC to install the remote starter they told me that my key has a chip in it and they confirmed it by calling a dealer.so i guess my salesperson is not very knowledgeable about this
anyway i'm taking my car to CC and i will ask them about it tomorrow. i want to find out where they put the spare key inside my car because i wanna cut the top of it just in case
