Question about Spoon N1

Hello, I am thinking about getting the Spoon N1 muffler...i am told that hooks up to stock mounts. I oventually want to get a full 2.5 down pipe and test pipe.

I guess i am asking...what is the stock pipe size for the exhaust on the fit? 2 or 2.5

Smile Exhaust Piping

IMO most of the the piping is 2.25 for the Honda Fit. Guessing you could go to a larger setup like a 2.50 but for such a small engine I believe the 2.25 works great.
My previous car 1.8T GTI ran a 2.50 exhaust and that was for a 180HP/179TQ stock car...so with that being said 2.25 should be plenty for this little sohc 109HP/105TQ car. Hope this helps.

Stock piping is 50mm, which is basically 2". Stay with the stock diameter if you're staying NA, otherwise you can find 60mm setups from Skunk2, etc. if you're going FI, which ends up just a bit over 2.25" (2.36 to be exact).

Don't waste your money -- buy the Spoon mid-pipe and actually have a setup that's meant to work together.

it's a midpipe....no midpipe will really give anymore power than another one...and if they have the same demnsions...they'll work together just as well as anything else. and, for the money he'd save...he can buy the down pipe and possibly header as well

They don't have the same dimensions -- Spoon muffler piping is 52.7mm dia. while the Megan piping is ~57mm. That isn't exactly gonna promote good exhaust flow when it bottlenecks at the joint to the muffler. Megan also is a 2-piece pipe which means it's got a second joint to further screw with the exhaust flow. It's also not tuned to work with the Spoon muffler, so while yeah, you can connect the two and it'll work, it's not going to be quite as effective as it would be if you had the Spoon mid-pipe. Plus, 57mm is a bit large for the L15 seeing as most companies making exhausts for the Fit are using 50-53mm for NA applications; anything bigger and you start to lose low-end torque somewhat plus response, which a number of Skunk2 60mm exhaust owners have mentioned here, as well as Skunk2 themselves. The L15 doesn't need any less torque than its got. Besides, the Spoon pipe is all of $360 US -- that's maybe ~$100-120 saved by buying the Megan, not enought for headers and a down pipe, and at the sacrifice of somewhat lower performance and much lower quality by far. Ultimately, you're right -- gains between mid-pipes are not going to vary by too much, but on an engine as marginal in power as the L15 every little bit helps.

Smile Piping

I absolutely love the Megan product. The stock diameter piping is way too small for any motorsport application forced induction or NA. I have had great gains with my Megan products!
Am not knocking Spoon's products sure they are great...but could not see myself spending alittle over 800 bucks for an Spoon exhaust system on a economy car. Keep in mind we are all modding economy cars here!

Plus the SPOON N1 catback isn't all that expensive with decent gain & sound quality.
