C5 Vette can do better than 13 seconds in the quater mile, thats being modest.

A Fit is would run, what, 18 seconds? Comparing the C5 to the Fit which has 109hp?

There is no way the driver of the Corvette was racing, maybe he had the accelerator 1/3 of the way down.

can't the corvette get to 65mph in 2nd gear or something like that?

To the poster: I think he wasn't trying to race you.

You seem overly upset about this post There is a major lack of information, but what if it was like a 1954 corvette or something? Actually the Fit would have kicked it's ass.

Year: 1954
¼ mile: 18 seconds
0 to 60 MPH: 11.1 seconds
Weight: 3,210 lbs.
Top Speed: 107.1 MPH
Fuel consumption: 16 - 20 MPG
Source: Motor Trend, June 1954

Then again he did quote a 5.7L.... so... yeah he would have got his a$$ kicked! lol, sorry FireBat.... but he could have kicked your ass with a single gear

Well it's just us Honda owners have so much to go up against in the automotive world because of certain people and we don't need anymore posts about beating Corvette's.

you were probably against a POS LS integra and not a DC2 GSR. My GSR is really powerful compared to the Fit. however I do admit that my fit handles better stock than my modified GSR.

DING! DING! DING! The winner!

The only way I see a Fit beating a Corvette off the line is uphill with 6+inches of snow on the ground.

wow so glad my story has created sooo much controversy..... for the record (again) i do realise i should have goten my ass kicked and if the vette was trying he would have slaughtered me.... the vette did accel a bit quickly but not all out... i reliase this, plus it was a short race off a stoplight wehre 2 lanes merger into one shorly after... i only hit about 60 MPH... and to the dude who quoted 10 reasons why i would have won... you could add one about me getting significantly better gas mileage too.... lol but im happy to have created a huge comical argument.... i meant this to be sligtly funny... im not some moronic ricer who thinks my ricedout honda (by riced i mean all those stickers at 20 HP each and a fart can... plus the wing thats taller than my car) is the greatest car ever made... especially my miss mached paint and all. dont get me wrong... i love hondas, but i cant stand those kids who ruin their good hondas wiht all that crap... well enough rambling... i gotta get ready for work... later!

I wonder if that would work! I'll try it and let you know. Thanks for the tip!

(Obviously, I will try this on my wife's car first.)

Then why create a new thread about it? The title of it is misleading.

For the record, I am very happy you created this thread... now if only I can get that contract to write for Letterman!

Hey Steeldog, carrots may not be the way too go. I have heard that new age genetically modified asparagus is all the natural spark plug replacement "rage" lately!

To add a bit of credence to this guys story...

The Fit does rev up pretty fast in 1st gear. Forget about the 1/4 mile or 0-60, what we are talking about here is a short distance. Given the weight(2432 lb for the 5M) of the Fit and it's torque (105@4800rpm), he could very well have beat the Vette for a few feet. At least in 1st gear, once the vette hit second then he can wave bye-bye.

Then that's not really a fair statement. A Fit will not beat much in a fair fight.

P.S. I have a Fit and a Turbo Jetta...the Fit would be a tiny spec in my rear view mirror if I ever raced one.
