Hit a Bear !!! Body expert help PLZ,,,,,

Hit a 300 pound (or so) bear with the front left the other night. Bumper, left fender,,,and BOTH doors have dents in them. I'm assuming they will replace the bumper and fender but was curious about the doors. Is there a way to replace just the skin of the door or what? The bear spun around and his ass hit the doors and he SHAT all over the side of my car,,,,now it's a real shit-Fit!!!!

Sorry about both the bear and the damage to your Fit. Replacing door skins is standard when there is no door frame damage.

Bearly Bearable

Ya know, I thought it sucked when my Fit was damaged by a squirrel, but you definitely have me beat!

Fits are designed to be safer for bears and other pedestrians than, for instance, Hummers. They are making more mention of that on the blurbs for the 2009 Fit, but it has been incorporated into the Fit from at least the 2007 model year. The bear should be thankful to you and to Honda, and perhaps if he reads this, he will feel compelled to bring you a picnic basket in atonement.

Obviously you were in the woods, since he did what he did on your door.

Got pics of the damage?

I obliterated 2 large racoons a couple of months ago and they did a hell of a job on my front end. Nothing like picking out the fur, flesh, and blood with your bare hands on the side of a dark lonely road so that I could push out the body damge enough to keep my tires from scraping!

Hey Grouser
This is not an answer to your post. But with everyone else putting their $0.02 I might as well..
You hit a bear!
Honestly how common is it to hit a bear? People! Def not around me. In NJ I cant recall if I have ever seen a wild bear.
You must really live in the sticks for that to happen
crazy man. SO SO sorry to hear that.
I was with my friend and a huge 5 pointer rammed right into us by the pass fender and got up towards the windshield haha and it also shat all over the car too. It was soo damn funny. Reminded me kinda of that movie with david spade and chris farley. Lucky for him he drove a POS and worked for a junkyard so the next day all his broken shizzle was replaced
I wish you luck fixing it, and fixing it fast! Good luck!

Actaully here in Northern California in my area bears are a major pain. This time of year they are really trying to fatten up right befor winter so they get a little more aggresive and come into populated areas. I consider myslef lucky as Ihave lived here for 17 years and have seen a prolly 35-40 bears. Lots of dear and maybe 7-8 mountains lions.....
The wife was behind me and saw the bear spin off my car and go around a few more times on the road all sprawled out on it's belly. When he stpped spinning he got up and ran off. I was not goin to fast by the time I hit him. Anti-loc brakes worked very well. The Honda is just not bullet proof up front, his head went thru the bumper and into the left fender and bounced off the tire, tha's waht spun him I think. Then his big butt tapped both doors as he duddied me.
Sorry no pics of the bear but I do have some lame shots of the damage. Will post them a litle later.
Thanks for the kind words and advice,,,,,goin to the big city (2 hrs away) and get an estimate today,,,,
