shell, sunoco, or bp, but I go to the same sunoco station for 90% of my gas. My detailing shop is behind a shell, so sometimes I will fill up there.

there was a thread on here recently about grade of gas, and listed the top-tier gas stations. Might want to look that up.. so you're feeding your fit at least some quality stuff ;-)

I have got to say that, for highway traveling at least since I haven't tested it for city, Valero gas gave me a 7 MPG increase over the previous tank and did 5 MPG better than the tank after it. That was 41 MPG.

This was driving from VA to PA to OH, so it was 100% highway across 4 tanks of gas.

The runner up (durring same trip) was BP at 40 MPG. Bare in mind that the AC was the entire time for those tanks.

Many car manufacturers warn against using BP gas. It has a lot of extra stuff in it that can be bad for emissions equipment. I know of several people who have had their check engine light come on with a tank full of BP, and filling up with Shell or Sunoco turns it off.

My Honda salesman specifically said DON'T use BP! Said same thing when my wife bought her Odyssey. I heard the same thing when I bought my last motorcycle.

Wow, id never heard that about BP before. I will make sure to avoid ever getting gas there again. Too bad BP is the only nice gas station nearby, theres crusty Chevron around here somewhere...

My friend use to work at BP. They get; I guess you can call report cars monthly. BP is on top all the time. Supposable they have the best gas.

I use Chevron only. Since I bought my Fit Ive put BP in 2 times. It was only because I would have been stranded on the road side.

I would prefer cheveron but Arco is 30 seconds from my work and 5mins from home so i usually fill up there. f'en chevron is about 8 miles away.

Just my opinion, so while your here, where do you buy your gas?

To answer all of your questions: My personal preference is gasolines that meets Top Tier standards. I prefer gasolines that meet Top Tier standards. I do not go for the cheapest deal. And finally I use gasoline brands that are listed as meeting Top Tier standards, listed here Top Tier Gasoline (usually Shell, Texaco, or Conoco-Philips due to station locations).

I go to 3 stations usually..

Chevron, Mobil/Exxon and Arco/BP

When I got my fit I only ran chev or mobil but... arco hasn't been bad for me, I think it seriously depends on which station sometimes. I'm averaging over 40 to a gallon, and the last few months with the prices I've been hitting the Arco the most.

Oh yea...can't beat that Costco is mostly 10 cents cheaper then even the cheapest gas. And on the American Express card there is even a 1% cash back.
