Missing Factory Antenna?

Hi. This is my first post.

I just got a new 2007 Fit Sport MT. Somebody I know just got the same model and trim. They got an antenna on the roof. Mine did not come with one. I noticed that all the pictures I've seen online show a short black antenna on the roof. I don't have that. I just have what the antenna is attached to. It's a black stub. It is covered with a black plastic or rubber cap. The cap is removable and I can see where the antenna would screw in.

Did the dealership just forget to screw in the antenna when they received it? Thanks.

I've heard this happening to another member. Try to look in your glove box first. Dig around, it's dark in there and the antenna is black. See if it's somewhere in there first. Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestion. I just took your advice and searched the glove box with my flashlight. It's nowhere to be found. I'll contact my dealer ASAP. I bet they will will give it to me. They have been good to me so far.

yeah if it's not there check in the wheel well area or maybe on the floor, it could have fallen. that black plug is just for transportation so nothing gets damaged.

Check the cubby on the right side of your hatch back area - that would be a good spot to "hide" it. Otherwise I would contact the dealership and let them know you did not get your antenna! Must have it!

Not an expert but just about anything metalic that can be screwed into the antenna base should work. Rember the number of people running around with wire coat hanger wrapped around the stub of their broken antenna. if you were running out in the great US SW you could use a long wire antenna to pull in distant AM stations

yup look in your maintenance book, it has the name of the guy who performed the pre delivery inspection on your car and forgot to put your antenna on....
just go back to the dealer, they should give you a new one

buy a toyota matrix or late corolla antennae (recommended by other FIT owners). The Honda unit is inadequate. I have a $15 aftermarket 18" antennae that is much better than the original.

I never had a problem with the stock antenna.
