Talking First tank: 42.5 MPG !!!

I picked up my base Fit MT from the dealer last Friday w/ 48 miles on it. I filled up at 414. The Fit took 8.6 gallons which comes out to 42.5 MPG . I also figured that even if the dealer topped it off and managed to squeeze an extra gallon of gas in the tank/fill tube I would still have an avg. fuel economy of 38 MPG. This is from fairly conservative driving w/ 90% on the highway at 70 MPH and moderate use of A/C. This car is incredible!!! I'll report back on my second tank to see if it stays consistent.

35.52 first tank

I picked up my fit last Wed and first stop was the gas station ... I put in 3.2 gal by filliing it all the way to the brim ... fuel light came on at 415 miles and drove till 435 miles to first fill up ... filled up to the brim again and put in 12.25 gal ... giving me 35.32 mpg ...

BOM MT ... 60% city, 40% Highway, AC always on

Mpg

Nice! I just got 40 mpg with 20,000 miles on it. It's funny that my wife finally achieved 41 mpg on her Yaris hatch. Then again her average is 39 mpg compared to my average of 35 mpg.

I know!!! I've had the car for a week and a half and already put almost 800 miles on it .

Luckily, that won't be the norm...300 of those miles were from a weekend up North!!!
