Angry Question about buying a fit

Is the shortage of Fits a short term or long term issue? I have noticed that there is not even one to test drive in my area.

Reading through these forums and taking in the various opinions, I think the conclusion would be that the 2007 Fit will be relatively scarce for the duration. I'll admit, I sort of like it that way, since you're driving a car not many others are driving, and you don't have to spend $35k+ for that honor

it shoudl be getting better. i am noticing a slight increase in the number of Fits on dealer lots.....but at the same time they are still selling just as fast as they get them in.

There is no shortage of Fits here in FL anymore. Coggin has about 10. Holler has around the same amount. (more on there back lot) They all have at least 2 5speeds also.

Only dealer I noticed that doesnt have much is Classic; where I got mine. They had 2 when I drove by. Both bases.

Makes me a little angry. I wish the Fit was a one time deal. You got one or you didnt. :/

I was at McNatts on Saturday they have 2 silvers, a showroom sport 5 M and an auto 'somewhere in the back'

(for the out of towners, McNatts is Denton's local Honda dealer)

a few weeks ago I was in McKinney Honda and they had 3 silvers including a base. There was also a 5AT sport on their used lot, it was specially priced at $18.9K with 5K miles

some areas are scarce but they're also selling very fast. I put in an order and had the dealer drive one in for me from 3 hours away. The ones on the lot sold within a week or two. Much of the fits that come in are already sold, just waiting to be delivered. Yikes!

Some areas are very tight supply, very few cars on dealers lots between Chicago and Milwaukee. With that said, you could probably get most colors and both trannys in about a month by shopping a numer of dealers and seeing what they had coming in that was unsold.

What I was prepaired to do was I shopped various citys for cheap airline flights. Then I was going to fly into whoever had cars, then drive it the 200-1000 miles home.

I understand your pain, I am getting a sport manual having only driven automatics. My car is due in this week possibly tomorrow and I know I am going to love it.

Yeah, the silver 5M is inside their showroom. I never saw the other one. Approx 2 weeks ago they had 2 white Sports with tint. They sat for a few weeks and was gone.

The showroom 5M has a markup, msrp just under 20K... good luck.

Here in Pittsburgh they are still available only on an "as ordered" basis. In fact, our auto show is this weekend and my dealer told me on Saturday that they may not have one available to display.

Rare in Colorado

Here in Denver they are still hard to find. I asked the dealer when I took mine in to get the SRS adjustment done.

I have seen a total of 4 since I bought mine 10 months ago.

I am not complaining, I had a gold Camry before and there are tons of those around

Have you tried Bankston in Lewisville?

Vandergriff Honda in Arlington has 9 in stock if you can make the drive down.

That's where I got my VBP Fit Sport AT.

Zero Fits Spotted

I've had my Fit for 1 whole week () and have yet to see another Fit.
I'm in Southern WA., and I'm looking for Fit's.
Best bet (I think) is to contact ~1/2 dozen internet dealers, find one who wants to help you (i.e. is willing to check incoming deliveries - even if they aren't his).
Find the one you want to buy and put your money down.
I ended up driving ~3hrs to go get my BOM Sport AT, & it was worth the drive, and yes, I paid a little more than MSRP, but I'm OK w/ that.
If you're in N. Oregon / S. Washington, call Bodie in the Dalles... I think I owe him something...... @ the least, a note to Honda of America (and maybe some good beer next time I'm heading East, out I-84)

Took us 7 weeks

We got to test drive a Base AT, but had to wait 7 weeks for our Sport MT to come in. We pick it up tomorrow!!

The Base we test drove was the only Fit on a lot within a 200 mile radius.

The wait was torture, but based on the great stuff I've read on this site, it will be well worth it!

Congrads! The dealer I've been working with was suppose to get three in this month. The base never showed up, the VBP I wanted turned out to be a M/T base Lunar Mist and then a Sports Milano Red. Both were sold
before the were off the hauler but lucky for me the Sport A/T Milano wasn't sold because they could not get the loan. I should have my loan
completed Monday or Tuesday and should have the car this week. They felt so badly about not holding me a car to test drive they are holding it without any deposit down. Had 14 miles on it when I got behind the wheel and I had 53 when I got back to the dealership. I am getting it out the door for $17,100.00, $1000.00 on my trade in and some money down. Hope to have a loan for around $11,000.00 in the end. Never dreamed I be getting a Milano Red because I really wanted a VBP or the MO but once I saw the MR in person I just thought it looked really nice. Plus like you I was so tired of waiting and today is my birthday so what better present could there be but a Fit Sport!

Post pictures when you can
