CB19 I am glad to hear that a person like yourself is happy with what you are driving.... You are correct the auto sport fit is great to drive. I like it alot myself.... On the top of my list for a car was fuel economy. Besides I am disapointed that there is such a difference between the auto and MT fit. Remember that Honda rates them one mpg different on the window sticker.
With all that has happened regarding my records of fuel economy I have to say who knows what will happen in the future. I really dont doubt the 48 mpg record that was posted.... I nearly got that. My record was 46.4 and I did around town driving before getting on I-5. As I said I did that same drive (250 miles) four times and only acheived 38 mpg
I remember telling my self that if the fit gets 40 mpg I will do back flips. In contrast the Toyotas seem to get 40 on most of there cars....
In the future My AT sport fit may get higher mpg? I dont have 5000 mile on the car yet. I put 8000 miles on the MT fit I owned.

Like I stated earlier I would like to see the stats before and after that tank. I am assuming that those of you who claim these high MPG keep good records of every tank of gas. I can break down every fill up by
date
gallons
miles

If ya cant get me that then I will say its B.S. or a goofed up fill

Since I asked for a detailed list ... I will give you mine... 2007 Sport AT Fit
you can see in the first few fill ups I was rounding down then i stopped to be more accurate.
Feel free to double check my math. I do it on my cell phone at the gas station before I drive off.
all the 29's were in city traffic the rest were normal freeway and commute. I guess this is good for a new motor but it doesnt even compare to my hybrid even when its engine was new. Ill post some of its fill ups when I have more time

Date****** gallons***miles ***MPG
3-21-07 ***9.845*** 330 ****33.51
3-23-07 ***6.038 ***205 ****33.95
3-27-07 ***8.223 ***240 ****29.18
3-30-07 ***9.585 ***286 ****29.83

Yes, and God is my sole witness, I'm very happy with this car...
Just curious, why do you think that a person like myself cannot be happy with a 5AT Sport? Maybe you know something that I wasn't aware yet, let's help each other in understanding each other
Enjoy the evening

Roughly, the same numbers for my Fit as well...
Good mpg, bad mpg, I don't freaking care, I enjoy life and this car as much as I can, I got just one life and it's not worth it fighting for something that is not a main issue in my life...
Drive safely

How is this relevant to the thread?

I've resisted biting at the bait this conservative blowhard includes in all his (or her? you could be a christina, who knows? Sorry for the "political correctness") posts. But I can't hold back any more.

"Liberal" is not a dirty word. After all, how could it be? Jesus Christ himself just happened to be one!

Sorry for the non mpg-related post... but it would help if some other people could call this guy out whenever the political bs comes out.

I'd just as soon keep both most all politics out of these forums and leave online shouting to another place.

Calling each other 'liberal-commie-homosexual-whack jobs-that hate our respective countries' or 'conservative-acohol swilling-moose/deer/kanagaroo humping-a'hole-whack jobs that don't understand the human plight' does nothing for us having fun with our cars.

So if we can get back to the original point of this thread...calling out each other's mpg abilities. I am not looking for an online fight, just a place to learn more about a fun little car, thats frugal with fuel that can be driven at 10/10ths a good portion of the time.

...jeebus...cars people! cars!

Why do you make such an assumption? Please do not use this thread to further your own beliefs on speeding, you have your own thread already for that.

and for those of you who don't believe those of us who can get good gas mileage... SORRY. so don't believe us, i don't really care.. i'm not going to sit here and constantly defend myself and my gas mileage and give you every single detail about every single tank of gas like, ever. seriously. i've done a LOT of road trips and used a LOT of tanks of gas.. so that's ridiculous. i already told you the miles i drove, how much i filled up, blah blah blah.. you want more? take a road trip and hit 10,000 miles and figure it out.

i'm still pretty damn happy that i got 48, even if you wanna be retarded about it. geez.

i looooove my fit, and now that i'm back in town my in-town/city driving gas mileage ive noticed has improved. hmmmmm... you guys just wait til you hit 10,000 miles, you'll be loving your fits, as well!

i'm not trying to be mean but i'm just kinda tired of people yelling "bs" at something they have no idea about.. i mean if you had that many miles on YOUR fit and still weren't getting the awesome gas mileage then i could understand cause i'd be mad too... but you're not even there yet, so just take a loooong road trip or just wait it out.. your mpg will get better. unless your in cali, it might just get worse.. lol!! cali mpg sucks ive noticed.

Dude .. I'm in total agreement .. just trying to make the pt that enjoying the forum gets a lot harder when you have someone's political bumper sticker of a signature staring you in the face every other post.

Myself, I'm trying to hit 32-33 mpg on a consistent basis .. I don't think I drive gently enough to get it, though =P (NBP 5MT)

Since everyone is claiming high miles with no records then fine I will do the same. I drove 500 miles on 10 gallons of gas. I was so suprised and could not believe it. It was 50% city and 50% freeway. At one point I turned off the motor and had my mom push the car for 20 miles.

I got 50 mpg please worship my ubberness lol

dont worry you will get that consistantly.... I dont know how many miles you have but I remember a day when the around town miles went up to 32 to 35 tank after tank.. I dont gass it... The worst I got with the MT fit was 28 mpg and I did that only once. I wish I still had a MT Fit

I have all records for mpg on both Fits I have owned. I use credit card and print the slip each time. I do the math befor leaving the gas station. Dont expect people like my self to post all of them.... One member did send an excell sheet I could have used and I would like to have used that but I think you are getting very worked up about wether or not people have the records. If the gas pumps are cheating us I dont think they are giving out more gas. I dont believe the odometer conspiracy theory and I and sure not going to pay $100 to check it...
I hope for our sake you start getting 45 miles per gallon Plus. You would like us to post every date and record and I like you to post the picture of your face after you get 45 mpg. We are not a bunch of jokers.

Now I have said I am not asking for all just the 2 tanks before the magic tank and 2 after. Is that too much to ask for.

If I ever get 45 which I doubt since I am a sport AT I will have to records to post up and there will be no question about it.

You say you keep records then please prove me wrong and post em. My guess is you don't keep any records you just check your receipts.

I had a PM request to expand on this.

At idle, the Scangauge reports between 0.8L and 1.2L burned per hour (roughly 0.2 to 0.3 gallons per hour). The consumption is higher with A/C, headlights, cold weather, etc. That's a fairly large difference; you can pick a figure that you guess represents your conditions or just take 1L/h as a rough estimate.

You can do the calculations with pencil and paper or in your head, but I'm lazy and usually use Google, since it's pretty flexible about how you enter things and handles the unit conversions as well, e.g.

Magic Tank -2 464.7km 30.059L 36.33 mpg
Magic Tank -1 463.8km 30.587L 35.63 mpg
Magic Tank 488.7km 22.512L 51.01 mpg
Magic Tank#2 525.2km 26.508L 46.56 mpg (yes back to back magical tanks, apparently northern Ontario highways are the place where magic, pixie dust, and wishes come true )
Magic Tank +1 140km 8.45L 38.93 mpg
Magic Tank +2 501.9km 30.529 39.19 mpg

All the other tanks were a mix of highway and city in southern Ontario.

Cheers all.

Damn, after my 40.4mpg tank my guesses put this next one in 28-32 mpg area. It was all rural roads with lotsa hills and admittedly I drove quite ... let's just say it was alot of fun XD.

Still pretty awesome figure. Gonna fill up in a couple days to confirm before running another 90% highway 10% city trip to try for a 45mpg tank.

Quick Reply: i just got 48mpg!
