How much did you pay for your Fit Sport?
When I went in to order my Fit, they said that they would match ANY offer that we brought in from another dealer if they were priced lower... Anyone happen to walk off with a 5-Spd Fit Sport for under MSRP? If so, I'd like to hear about it.
BTW, cool web-board.

Decalb, I used to live in Elgin now living at the IL/WI border and the big lake.
Starting at Lisle Honda and working up thru Madison WI I could not find a single dealer below sticker, some mark them up, tack on $250 paint protection packages and $125 McGuard theft resistant lug nuts
And most of the dealers dont have ANY fits on their lots.
Lisle is your best bet though, talk to Orlando or Manager Stephanie MacMahon.
Soonest Sport manual due in, is luckily at my closest dealer. Sticker price with no add-ons and 2-4 more weeks til I get it

I'm actually working with Brilliance Honda in Crystal Lake, IL. They told me that they can get me one as well, and I already have money down with them.
I doubted I would be able to find anything, but figured if I can find a competitive offer, I can get them to lower the price.

I was bashed on HT for saying that I got mine for below MSRP. But the price paid for the CAR was 16000. They got me back later in the service contract and made their 1000 back. I'm ok with it since we ended up buying another one about a week later... got that one for 1400 less.

Sport M/T 15565 with 95 doc fee and 220 for reg/plates etc. Of course its not here yet so the wait continues.
Never pay for "Paint Protection" or any of the other silly named fees because they are all a scam.
Here is some interesting reading;
Las Vegas Business Press :: News : Hidden fees hurt local car buyers
Consumer Fraud Information
This is must read material as some of these scams are very common even at the good dealerships.

Fit price
My Sport Auto, in March 2007, was $17,500.00 out the door. Includes tax. Out the door price is all that really counts, IMO. It is the true measure of the price you pay. Anyone here remember the OTD price you paid? Just curious.

I would have been able to purchase a Milano Red Sport MT under MSRP (-$300) but I wasn't feelin the red, so I had to get one in delivered in Storm Silver and they charged me MSRP for it, we haggled to not have locating costs and such, so yeah right at MSRP for me. Took only 2 weeks to get it in and off the lot.

until you realize taxes differs from county to county.

taxes
I actually purchased my Fit from a neighboring county to save $180 in taxes. Then, when I had to have it towed due to the problem here,
Transmission Control Problem
I lost waaay more than $180 in towing. Thought it was a factory problem, so I sent it back to the dealership where I got it. Lost my arse.

I've signed a buyers agreement for a Storm Silver Sport 5 speed manual: $15170 sticker, 595 destination, $84 for new plate here in PA, plus required 7% local taxes. No other markups or options. Should be here in the next few days.

Got my fit sport for 15200. My dad haggled the salesman for 2 days. The guy was really desperate to sell it, because they had 5 fits and had trouble selling it. But after I got my fit they started to sell like hot cakes where i'm from.

taxes
The taxes WERE the difference, AYWWSD. Maybe it isn't that way where you live, at the Honda dealership. But here, it DOES make a difference in sales tax, where one city or county has a greater taxation rate than another.

I haven't got it yet, but here's what I'll be paying for my Sport MT: $15,500 + $299 (dealer fee) + $947.94 (6% sales tax) = $16,746.94. Oh, and registration will add about $160 to that, so figure around $16,900 OTD.
I found a dealer around here who would sell me a Fit MT for $15,245 with a dealer charge of $289, but they couldn't get me the color I wanted (Milano Red).

I was lucky enough to know I wanted one before a lot of people knew what they were.
I called my local dealer 3 weeks before the first ones hit, and checked what they had coming. They had 2 Black Sport MT's coming, which was the one I wanted. I told them that I usually buy my cars from my old dealer that is 2 hours away (which is true) and that they gave me a price of $500 under MSRP (that wasn't true!) They ended up beating that by $100, so I got mine for $600 under MSRP. The salesguy that I dealt with over the phone told me I was lucky his manager was such a space cadet...he didn't know that the Fit was going to be a hot seller.
I got it the day they hit the dealers, and all of the other ones on that truck sold by the time I picked mine up.
