Fit delivered with Swirl marks?
Well I bought my new Sport Fit (Nighthawk black pearl) March 27th and picked it up around 7:45pm My girlfriend and I checked it out and she found some Scratches on the front bumper and one on the back bumper. Then we went home the next day I had to go back because I forgot my checkbook and when I was going back to my car I noticed in the bright sun (Swirl Marks) on the car and not just a couple but everywhere. I waited for the car salesman and showed him when he arrived. He said let me take it around back and see if the car wash department can fix that. He returned and said I would need to return next week and have the Bodyshop address the problem. Well I returned on April 2nd and was given a rental. Then on the fourth of April I was called and returned to pick up my car I still saw the lines and to this day I still see the (SWIRL MARKS) on the car during sunlight! The body shop did nothing the dealer got a (Sublet) to buff them out.

Sadly, that is par for the course. Dealerships have poor washing techniques, such as using dirty towels to dry a vehicle.
Keep this in mind when you take your car in for any kind of service. Make sure to stress that they do not wash your car. The "free" detail is about as effective as a swirl-o-matic (non-touchless) car wash.
They also probably didn't do any polishing to your paint to remove the swirls. Instead, they probably tried to use a filler wax to cover them up.

I've gotta say, when I bought my fit it had a small scratch in the door. I told them I would not drive off the lot until it was taken care of. It took 2 hours, but I got the car and it was SPOTLESS.. They did the best detail I've ever seen and I can't see the scratch for the life of me. a+ for my dealer..

I'm happy for you but I picked up my fit about 8:30pm and could not see the swirls until I returned for my checkbook I left the night before. I love this car but as I told the service manager I want it fixed.................

Nighthawk Black Pearl has flakes of blue, purple, and green in it. It can look a bit more purple when you see the reflection of the blue sky in the paint.
As for swirls, I can understand your concern, but you are probably just putting off the inevitable. The smallest flake of dirt on your rag/sponge/towel during washing or drying and it will happen. Ive had 4 cars that were Nighthawk Black, and finally just gave up trying to keep the swirls at bay.

I'm still trying to get my swirl marks out. I have the NHB too. When I first had it, there wasnt any, however when I'm away from home (at college), I park in the lot here, and there is always a lot of sand and other stuff, so its hard to clean. Also, I have to go to the quarter machine car wash places instead of just using a hose and bucket the way I like to. But, I was told black is the hardest, so I aint sweatin it...if I really wanted a nice looking paint job I'd have it repainted...which is actually what I'm planning on in the next couple of year...but until then, I just try to wash/wax as much as possible to cut out the swirls' glare as best i can.

In owning a black car previously, I wouldn't take it to a car wash.
Hand washing only. I used fashioned cotton diapers for removing wax.
The softest towels money will buy for drying off the car, or chamois, or soft t-shirts inside out (cut the tag of the neck of the shirt).
I had the best luck with Mothers products for Honda Black paint. They have a multi-step solution that may work for you. Taking a polishing wheel to the car will ruin black paint and that might be what the dealer did.
Search out a local detail shop and consult with them before leaving the car.

I think all the Fits have a slightly off-colored bumpers.

No I will not just get over it the dealers are one of the main problems!!! I don't like being screwed over. The only thing I want from a dealer is to fix my car in which I didn't screw up. The car salesman bragged about how his dealership (Hand washes the cars) I bet I'm the only one who caught it let me put up there name and put together a Blog site to see how many more people got swirl marks on there cars. And then lets see who gets PISSED!
