I AGREE WITH THE CARPET THING but havent really visited the carpet issue in a couple years since i kinda forgot about it, besides it woulda been a pain in the a$$ with the seats down to slide my washer and dryer into with higher plush carpet so i suppose it doesn't bother me

AND TO ANSWER YOUR #5 AN ALIGNMENT WONT FIX A camber PROBLEM SO i'd suggest checking the paperwork the alignment shop gave you and look at the camber spec - you could have something bent

i myself have only one real complaint as stated a couple pages ago and thats the worthless flip down sunvisors when put to the side "they're not long enough" really honda could'a made a flap slide out to extend it in the side position (the accord has it, maybe ill see if i can make that one work)

 

when the visors are fliped down and out, youd be better off using your arm to ward the sun lol

 

Much as I dislike my father-in-law's 2001 Oldsmobile, the thing has great sun visors -- big, and with a pull out extension panel. Has anybody ever found a sleeve, or something that could be clipped on to the Fit visors?

But wearing sun glasses works too.

 

How soft and bouncy the rear suspension is. I've seen a stock GD pass by one time and the rear end was going up and down faster than a groupie's in a late night rap video when driving along a bumpy section of I-10.

Edit: And how the front of it is 1/2 lower on the driver side than the passenger side. I don't remember how much in the rear, but its not even either and I'm on stock springs.

 

1) Not as luxurious as my Jaguar Vanden Plas
2) Not as good in the snow as my AWD Subaru
3) Doesn't corner like my 21 year old Porsche 944
4) Not as fast as neighbors Harley
5) Doesn't carry as much cargo as my neighbor's Ridgeline
6) Stereo not as good as my home stereo

OK a little ridiculous...but so are many of the other "complaints"...

For real:
1) Why does the low fuel indicator come on when there is 1.64 gallons (6.2L) left in the tank? All my other cars with this feature come on with 1 gallon left and they get far worse gas mileage. Don't need a reminder that I need gas in the next couple of days, I have a fuel gauge why do I have to stare at the idiot light or fill up early?
2) The engine coolant is cold light comes on when the Fit is started in the morning in my garage. Couldn't they have set this light to come on below 60 degrees so I wouldn't have it lighting up every morning (in the summer)?
3) The windshield is huge. Couldn't they have put some tint at least on the top of the windshield?
4) The meep-meep-horn has to go.
5) No protection for the condensor and radiator in front.

3, 4, and 5 I will fix with tint, horn replacement, and screening...but why should I have to? It seems like redesigning the lower grill to have smaller openings for rocks would not be that hard.

2010 Blackberry Pearl Sport Fit

 

Some folks have complained about the carpet. I have been looking for it for the year I have owned the Fit and all I can find is some crappy trunk liner type stuff on my floor. Oddly, when searching the interwebs for replacement carpet, I find it for every brand new Honda except the Fit. Why a new Accord would need carpet escapes me, but the Fit damn sure does, and nobody makes replacements. Oh - and the 1/2 watt light in the cargo area is a tad insufficient. I didn't even know it was there until I bent over and saw it under the plastic trim.
I almost forgot - some idiot decided it was a good idea to bolt firmly-in-place the outboard rear shoulder harnesses so it is impossible to clean the glass on the inside

 

I drive a 2010 Fit Sport M/T, I think the tachometer and the Fuel Gauge need to swap sides. Most people drive the m/t with their left hand while shifting with the right, no?
My left arm is always in front of the tac while driving (the gauge to look at most) while the gas gauge sits there in plain view. To me it's a ergonomic error
While I'm good at shifting without looking at the tac, it does aid in shifting when the stereo is too loud to hear the engine

 

Question is where do you put your left hand? I can't say I've noticed a problem. I'm holding lightly at 10 o'clock. I've also learned through the years to feel the shift point more than hear it.

 

At 11 or 12 usually, and it's very hard to feel the shift points with Slayer CRANKED!

 

Why couldn't they just turn off the lights when you turn off the ignition rather than have the car beep at you to turn them off? Is there a mod for this?

 

I've taken to holding the wheel @ 8 and 4-fingers up. It works well w/ MT.

 

Only been driving mine for about 2 weeks but there are one or 2 things I don't like. I am 6'1" and the rear view mirror is right at eye level and blocks much of my view out the windshield to the slight right. If there is a car pulling out I actually need to scrunch down to get a better view, why wasn't the mirror put higher up in the "defrost" region of the windshield???

Second thing is the seeming lack of a full coverage wheel well liner in the rear???ummm wtf

 

My 2008 has a rather musical chime when you have your lights on and you try to leave, it sounds like "Lights off! Lights off!" to me. It works and I think it's pleasant.

 

I'm 6' and I agree on the OEM mirror. I was able to do like I do in all my cars, angle up the support arm as much as possible. Thing with the Fit - I thought I was going to rip it off the glass. Very stiff. Really not high enough.

I recently up-graded to a GENEX temp/compass display auto-dim. A first class unit. about 1/2" wider than OEM, and in the Fit it means a lot. It slips on the OEM base, but it does raise up a bit better - I have no issues at all with it.

Wheel wells. I like them open, but thought it strange.

 

I was kinda thinking the same thing... but for different reasons.

As I showed in the aftermarket GPS thread, I put my GPS over the fuel gauge pod. Then I thought to myself... I rely more on the fuel gauge than the tach (I seem better, or at least smoother, at shifting when I don't use the tach or speedo). I thought about putting the GPS over the tach pod, but I'm more comfortable manipulating the GPS with my right hand.

As for my hand position that you and KC were talking about.... I find that I'm not very consistent. Typically, my hand is somewhere between 9 and 12 o'clock. On occasion, it can be as low as 7-8 o'clock. I think the most common spot is possibly 10-11 o'clock. But I did notice that I was blocking my tach a couple of times.

On to the mirror position...
I find that the mirror is both too low AND too high on the windshield. I have also noticed that I need to "crouch" slightly to see around the mirror once in a while. But, at the same time, the view to the back doesn't go very far. I think it has something to do with the windshield being so sloped. In steeper windshields, the mirror would end up being closer and further to your right (field of view). Being to the right, it blocks less of the front. And being closer, the angle affords a bit more of the rear view. Well, that's just my thoughts on it.

I wouldn't mind if the headlights automatically turn off when I shut off the car and get out. On the flip side, I think leaving the headlights on while I'm doing delivery (engine off, key with me) is better because I think the bulb itself isn't strained as much just being on, than being turned off and then on. I have no data to back it up, but seems like the bulbs burn out faster because I turn them on and off too often.

 

And yes mine makes a pleasant warning sound (which is just another drain on the battery)....not sure many people want to leave their lights on with the key out.

11. Smart Key-Can't people take responsibility for themselves?

That's three posts in THIS thread that mention/complain about the center cup holders under the dash. There might be more (I did a word search for "holders" so if there's a typo, I missed it).

As for the cup holder up top by the vent... people actually LIKE it, because of the exact opposite. It can keep COLD drinks cooler longer if you have the AC on.

 

I have already raised my rant before on how poor the locations of all cup holders... so many cup holders but not a single one ergonomic enough to reach into... seriously, you have to purposely work and navigate your way into those holders.
