I'm up to 2,800 miles. Still haven't put less than 11.3 gallons in for a fill-up. 29.0 mpg average so far. Based on mileage, about 50/50 city/highway. I've probably ran it hard about 200 miles, 100 miles of back roads, and one "sprint" w/convoy run of about 100 miles with speeds of about 90-95 mph.
Oh, FWIW - If you engage "S" and run up to 100 mph and shift into "m5", your speed will slowly drop!! If you're gonna run 100+, you have to use 4th!! ... and fuel cut-off occurs at approximately 93 mph in 3rd in S-mode.

In the 1st 2500 miles I have averaged 39 mpg highway mileage traveling at 70-85 mph and 34mpg in the city. I am consistently getting better than rated mpg with this car. My current top speed has been 117 mph with the 2007 Honda Fit Sport (automatic)

Have a Sport with AT. It had 273 miles on it when I got it. Mine got 32 MPG first 2 tanks 30 on the 3rd and 31.5 on the last tank I put in it. The time it only got 30 was with 30% of the miles being put on in the city. Most of my driving is on a fairly strait Highway and on back country roads.

My Sport Silver AT now has over 5000 miles on it, and seems to be returning 30-31 mpg pretty consistently. My commute constitutes most of my time behind the wheel. It used to be easy highway driving, but now there's lots of traffic and stop and go. This article includes some info on fuel consumption -- says tire pressure and a/c don't affect it much:

White FiT Sport AT here. On my fifth tank of 87 (regular) octane. I would say 90% city driving, though I know the backroads in Nashville pretty well, so while I stop for lights, I don't generally have traffic problems. During my 10% highway driving, I cruise at a steady 60mph (secondary country highway; Briley Pkwy. for those from Nashville). About one half-day a week I use the paddles either for fun or to escape a city bus or SUV.
That said: I've never gotten less than 24.4 U.S. miles per U.S. gallon, but never more than 26.8mpg. While this is better than my last car (a 1978 Caddilac Eldorado that got 8mpg city/13.5 mpg highway) it's still not what I'd hoped for or what was advertised. I know EPA estimates are generally considered optimistic, this is baloney. If I had known it was going to be between 24-27mpg, I might've gotten the Yaris. Somebody help a brother out here!

I have a MT Sport - over the 2200 miles I have accumulated, I have averaged 34 mpg - lowest mpg of 33 mpg, highest of 36 mpg (this includes some highway driving).
Overall, I am very happy with my mileage. My '98 Civic DX (auto, non-VTEC) averaged 30 mpg over the same commute, but was not nearly as entertaining to drive or as versatile.

Ok, today was my first fill at 248 miles (had to do a long drive so I didn't wait for the light). I used Chevron 87 Octane at $3.35/gal (I hate Cali prices).
248 miles / 8.75 gal = 28.38 MPG. Hopefully this will improve when fully broken in. I am going to try Arco next to see if there is a significant difference.. A lot of people tell me that Arco gas, here, is watered down (metaphorically speaking).

I just finished my third tank on my Sport FIT AT. About 20% highway and the rest to and from work locally. Got 31.4 MPG. The car is rated at 37 MPG highway (38 for the manual tranny) and I gotta believe that's under absolutely optimal conditions. How someone can be getting in the forty's is beyond me.
