... this is weird...
I filled up on Monday this week... on Tuesday my little screen on my FIT started blinking: "CHECK FUEL CAP"... all day even when I pulled the new locking gas cap off and put on the old cap... my son (who works for Honda dealership) said that the computer would have to be reset either at some Honda dealer or I might fix it with disconnecting the battery for a minute. I thought that I would do this, weather permitting, this Saturday... that little screen blinking on and off was a bit of a bother...
Today after a nights rest it seems that the FIT reset the computer itself...?? No more "CHECK FUEL CAP" message... wtf!

my question is I guess as to why it happened in the first place. Glad it reset itself; I was thinking that since the oil warning light needed to be manually reset then... What other things does the computer warn you of? Like when to rotate your tyres, engine malfunction, when to change your battery??

1. Environmental awareness. A loose cap allows hydrocarbons to escape into the atmosphere.
2. Safety. Vehicles have to be able to withstand a 50 mph rear collision, be turned upside down, and not lose more than one ounce of fuel per minute.
The instrument panel has many indicators, just read your owner's manual for more information.
