Question Accidentally used a few Tbsp of silicate coolant

Hey Fit Freaks!

Question for ya: I recently put a little bit of green coolant directly into the radiator without first reading that I should have used blue silicate-free coolant. It filled up to the top very quickly, meaning I didn’t actually use that much coolant — probably 3-5 tablespoons at most, maybe less.

Then I looked at the user manual and saw I should be using silicate-free coolant.

I’m considering doing a coolant flush to clean everything out. I called the Honda dealership and they recommended it — but of course, they’re financially incentivized to recommend it. It’s pretty pricey, and I’m wondering if it’s really worth it — especially since I ended up buying silicate-free coolant afterward and putting it into the reservoir, which hopefully should dilute the coolant overall.

Is it worth it to spend $1-200 on a coolant flush because of a few tablespoons of silicate coolant? Or am I safe skipping that?

Thanks!
Jesse
