Any advice on cleaning the stock Fit Sport wheels?

Just like the title says. I cleaned up the fit a few times now, and i generally use a sponge and try to fit it in the cracks of the wheels to clean it. but its too thick to go all the way in. does anyone have a trick or a tool they use to get inside those small cracks on the fit sport wheels?

I tried using a brush, but the shape of the brush is also too big, and because its a brush it doesn't exactly whipe up everything.

Use a smaller brush or sponge I guess. Have any used toothbrushes lying around? Those might work. Soft enough not to damage the paint, most likely.

what? everyone was thinking it, i just pointed it out

they sell a specific thin brush at your local auto parts store, it looks like a sponge but collapses and hugs thru tight spaces to clean that space btw the spokes.

Lightbulb Gett'n your Shine on!

Meguairs spray wheel cleaner works great! to get into the small crevices use a thick paint brush, works great. Be careful not to hit the rim with the metal part of the brush. And to keep the brake dust from sticking I have found NXT works good, and for along time
Don't forget to pull the wheels and clean the back side to! Then clean the brakes and wheel housings too! And some may say that wheel shine is bad for the tires , but I say the tires don't last long enough on my car to split or come apart or whatever, but a shiny car deserves and mildy shiney tire.
No thats not me, and I don't own the Porsch
notice the 5mm factory spacer in the brake pic?

stock sport wheels are painted, so you can hit 'em with a synthetic spray on wax. I use the same thing that I use on the rest of the car. seals, protects and keeps 'em nice and shiny!

I use the wife's toothbrush. Why the heck does she need that one tooth cleaned anyways?

Wheel spray/cleaner? well give the Mopar brand a try. My Caravan is terrible for brake dust. Their cleaner does work.

My Sport wheels are sitting waiting for Spring. I guess I should get at them and clean up the remaining overspray from the undercoating. What a mess on the inside.

Thanks. I got all kinds of crap here to do it. Lacking motivation. Too cool yet for doing outside stuff.

yeah i think i figured it out. a rag works out the best for those small spaces because its enough to get your finger down in, but its too small of a space to fit a sponge.

its not like iam cleaning heavy grim, just washing off typical break dust that is on top, but its hard getting into that surface

i tried a bristle brush and even an old tooth brush, but those things don't have enough surface to clean up those areas without brushing over it like 100 times.

welp... thanks for all the help, idk why it took me so long to figure out how to clean them... its just sad to see so many dirty fits out in public because they are too lazy to clean the wheels really well..

and yeah.. i feel the same way as you.. i spend more time cleaning the wheels than the body of the car.. because mainly even the WORST bug stains and tar stains on the front bumper can be removed easily using a product such as Nufinish (that crap smells like paint thinner)

I was using simple green or a similar product, douche the wheels and tires with it, let it sit for a bit and hose it off while washing the car. It helps loosen all that shit up first. Then a microfiber with some soapy water to get in the small areas later.

Thumbs up

Griots sells some nice foam wands on their site that are perfect for the job. I love their products in general, some of way too expensive IMO but in general with Griots, you get what you pay for
