Revo Technica Honda Fit 07-08 / 09+ 5-Speed Manual Racing Short Throw Shifter

After a while of hesitation to be a guinea pig for car parts I decided to give this product a try. I was asked by Buddy Club a while back to test a short shifter and exhaust back when I still had my Taffeta White but I declined because I was really picky with who can drive my car and the fact that I needed my car for daily driving. But I was given a second chance this time by being asked to do a product review for the RevoTechnica Short Throw Shifter for the 09+ Honda Fit by AJ Motorsport/ AutoDynamic located in El Monte, California. Installation was not really hard; product was a direct replacement of the stock short shifter, followed by the removal of the shift knob and center console. It is shorter roughly by 25mm according to their website. Moving on I first took it for a test drive and I felt that it was stiffer which I enjoyed. There were no problems with it going into gear and it felt better than stock. I launched my car going onto the freeway and felt reduced throw than I normally would feel with the stock shifter. When it came to downshifting, I did not have any problems too.

So here is the verdict,
This product is made out of plastic and I honestly have never heard of this brand before. I do not know where it is manufactured or made but to tell you the truth I actually enjoy this product for the better response than the stock shifter so I would recommend it if you had the extra money for one. Makes going on drives or cruises more exciting in my opinion. You do lose a little bit of comfort though but that’s just the tradeoff of upgrading to a “race” short shifter. Oh, and if you are worried about it breaking down, the short shifter has a one year warranty I believe.

I really have no idea what else I should answer or write about for this product so if you have any questions or concerns about it, just PM me or post it up here and I’ll be more than enough happy to have an answer.

Anyways, enough of the reading, here are the pictures.

Revo is a old school brand, theyve been around a long time.

Wow, that is a straight knockoff of the Mugen short shifter.

I'm personally excited for this product as the Mugen is WAY overpriced, imo.

In for pricing...

^ Yeah. I have not heard anything bad about this company either. Sounds like this could be a good alternative to the Mugen. I'm very happy with my Skunk2 short shifter kit combined with the Strut King shifter bushings, so I won't be getting this... but it seems nice.

Any more news/info on this? Looking at pricing online--seems like most of the ones for other models by Revo are around $100 bucks.

i didnt drive his car around but i checked it out while the car was stationary. VERY solid shifts and perfect throw length. I'm sure it'd be really nice in motion as well

Does it still have rubber bushings? I bet this would be sweet if before you even installed it, you added the metal H-Fit bushings.

I used to have this shifter for my 2002 Civic so I can vouch for it. It was one of the best mods I had. Helped out a lot with the OEM 18-Wheeler long throw shift that the Civic came with. Solid piece that held up well for the 60K miles I had it before the car was sold. I guess it wasn't a popular brand, but I know a lot of RSX owners used this shifter also.

The bushings are rubber. I was going to replace them with some aluminum bushings, but I don't think it would have made a big difference. I never yanked hard at my stick. I always caressed it.

If I had a 5spd stick I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Thanks Mario...that helps out a lot. I hope I can get this in the future--but I think I will upgrade the bushings.

Is the only difference between revo and stock the shifter is 25mm shorter in length than stock?

Or is the revo pivot point at the base changed to reduce the throw by a certain %?

Once again, not sure about the Fit, but the Civic's throw was reduced by 40%. Definitely a big difference from stock. But once you're used to driving you wish it could be even shorter!

Its advertised to reduce throw by 40%. But I honestly cannot tell by percentage, but it does reduce throw and is shorter than stock
