strange (small) noise before starting
Hey all,
This is probably a really lame question to start of posting here with but here goes:
Every time I go to start my fit, before I turn the key to actually turn the ignition (I think this is aux power?) I notice a small sound, almost like some mechanical part inside the car is moving in to place to prepare to start the car. It's not really a scrape, cause it doesn't sound as if it's very rough but I definitely hear something. I never noticed it on my 96 civic (previous car) - Has anyone else noticed this?
BTW - I have a 2008 Fit MT

electronics
I believe I know what you are referring to, it should sound like a high pitched low sound. you can hear it when moving the key to position I to II. I believe it the cause of modern electronics in the car, it should only happen when starting and shutting off. I'm pretty sure this is normal.

Ditto on the fuel pump. All cars cycle the pump when the key is in the on position. So as you go past the on position to the start it turns the pump on to pressurize the system. Some cars need a second in the on position before the start to pressurize the system better.
